January 25, 2026I got no problem with the room, but no parking … they will ask you to park in the middle of nowhere… and anything can happen to your car. Everything I buy something I have to do back and forth from alllllllll the way where I park in the middle of nowhere to my bedroom. Worst environment
May 24, 2025Right next to a construction zone. Dirty outside and inside. Stains on carpets. Elevator and hallway smell. I saw bikes with only a wheel locked on the rack. Tenant leaving angry notes about packages being stolen. I wouldn't waste my time and money here.Review from Apartments.com
Do not move here.
April 28, 2024Property managers are terrible. Will ignore you if you have a complaint about loud neighbors banging on the wall that are knocking stuff over in your apartment. They also let the trash room overfill with garbage and will blame the residents for “overfilling” because they’re too lazy to do anything about it.Property Manager Responded

Loving east village!
November 9, 2023I moved to Des Moines about 3 months ago from Nashville, TN and at first the building wasn't what I expected. The whole building was dirty, the carpet was stained all over the place, elevator was always dirty. Not long ago Indigo Management took over here at the lofts and I'd say that has been the best decision they could of made. Ashley has been a great property manager, she's answered all my questions and catered to all my concerns and needs. Maintenance people did an awesome and fast job ...resolving my issues here at my apartment. Carpet is not stained anymore, there's not a lot of packages on the floor by the entrance, there's a clear path for me to grab my mail. Everything is starting to look better and cleaner. No not waste your time
July 15, 2023This place stinks horribly in the hallways of dog pee. The trash chute is always full by Mondays and have seen multiple cockroaches near the hallways of the trash chute room and in the room. Dogs barking at all hours of the day. Front door handicap access broke. Elevator broke. DONT BE SHOCKED; my rent has also gone up over a hundreds dollars just like everyone else. Don’t live here.Property Manager Responded

Modern
October 6, 2022Modern space and amenities, but it is a little pricey for small spaces. It does have free street and back in angle parking for visitors around the building, although it does get taken up quickly after work hours. Quite space other than the train, which is expected but not bothersome. Lets lots of light in and even though they have small studios there is a lot you can do with the space.Review from Apartments.com

Great Place to Live!
March 11, 2021My wife and I lived in a studio and loved the community. The courtyard is amazing (we have a dog) and you don't find green space like this anywhere close to downtown. The amenities are great - fitness room, sky lounge, pet wash and more. Management has done multiple events such as courtyard concert, courtyard yoga, and grill out with food, drinks, bags, etc. In regards to the reviews about thin walls, we had neighbors on all sides and were in a studio and RARELY heard neighbors/noises. We had ...parking right next to the building and paid half what our previous landlord charged for ramp parking, plus street parking is free and ample, so friends always had a place to park nearby. Management was always quick to respond and address work orders. We were able to get a move-in special making the rent super reasonable for a brand new building. Overall, we will and have recommended Rowat to many friends and if you are looking for a place to live, definitely go tour and decide for yourself.
