      • No response from management after you move in

        February 17, 2021
        After you move in, you receive no response from management. The leasing office no longer answers the phone or return phone calls. You are lucky if you get an email returned. It would be amazing if the property manager actually existed, as I have never met or spoken with her. The leasing office is still closed to the public and residents. I moved in August 2020, I have a light switch that still does not work and they will not fix. I have given up on service requests on a leaky washing machine to ...
        get that fixed. It took a few months to get the outside storage room door fixed, and that is a security issue. Now we have been 7 days without a shower, our tub leaks. We still cannot receive communication about that. This place has has been a nightmare.

        Apartment is outdated and very expensive based on what your getting. Location is great and the staff is fairly quick to respond to your needs but they have a major termite issue. I have put several requests with different responses about coming out to treat but it’s been an ongoing problem since I moved in. Calling it luxury apartments and having termites is not a good combination.

        Disclaimer, I don’t live here. I wanted to. I’ve been searching for an apartment for two months with little luck, and when I found this place I was hopeful. Well, they called me back after emailing them and I made an appointment for 540pm to see an apartment. After fighting traffic from DTSP to reach the complex, I arrived at 542. I walked into the lobby and there was already someone waiting to talk to the receptionist. The receptionist was on the phone with what I assume was a resident of the ...
        complex walking them through how to get rid of the FLEAS IN THIER APARTMENT. She repeated several times that they would need to vacuum every single day and that the FLEAS wouldn’t be gone for at least a couple days. The receptionist talked to this person for about ten minutes (at least while I was there). Then, after hanging up, the receptionist dealt with the people waiting, of course they were there first so that makes sense. By the time the receptionist is done with the other people waiting (who wanted information on an apartment) she finally was able to see me. I told her I was there for my 540 appointment and she responds that since it’s now 558 she can’t show me the apartment because they close at 6. Look, I understand, I was late by two whole minutes. Who am I to expect her to help me out and show me an apartment to rent at the place that employs her to show people apartments to rent. I get it, I’m completely out of line. I mean, I should have expected her to be dealing with someone on the phone who has an APARTMENT WITH FLEAS. Now, one would think that if a person wanted a job that had strict opening and closing hours that they would get union work in a factory or something, not a customer service job where part of your job is to be helpful to people looking to overpay for your fleabag apartments. But, hey that’s just me. Again, I was two minutes late and unable to see an apartment because the receptionist had to explain to a resident how to get rid of the FLEAS FROM THEIR APARTMENT. So, if your idea of great customer service is people that won’t accommodate a little tardiness but are happy to give you tips on how to get rid of the FLEAS IN YOUR APARTMENT, then I suppose you’ll love Runaway Bay Apartments.         Ever since we moved in we have not had a single problem with the staff or neighbors. The neighbors are quiet and friendly. The staff takes the time to get to know you personally. Maintenance is fast and effective. They make you feel truly welcomed and at home. Home at last.

      • Noisy, depressing, overpriced, outdated 80s era apartment in a sketchy neighborhood

        Dont be fooled by their photos. An apartment that is not "updated" means since the 80s! The tennis courts need repainted, gym is minimalist, seen better playsets in backyards, no dog park. The monthly add on fees are outrageous. Apartments need gutted and completely renovated. Bad neighborhood with drug dealing, etc... Lack of reviews on this site imply mgmt removes the undesirable ones, and there are no good ones to remain.
