Unjustified Charges and Terrible Communication
November 20, 2024I had a deeply frustrating experience with Rustic Ridge Villas management regarding the return of our security deposit. My wife and I vacated the property at the end of July 2024 and received a disposition letter on August 29, showing a $250 cleaning fee. Missouri law requires landlords to return the deposit within 30 days and provide an itemized list of deductions, neither of which we received. It has now been nearly four months, and despite multiple follow-ups, we still haven’t received the ...remaining deposit or any meaningful response to our concerns. When we moved into the unit, it was very dirty. We even have video footage showing how dirty the shelves, fridge, bathtub, floor, and walls were. We provided the move-in sheet with these concerns noted. We went above and beyond to ensure the apartment was cleaned enough to live in, and we definitely left the unit in much cleaner condition. We repeatedly asked management to justify the $250 cleaning charge, especially since only $60 seemed reasonable for carpet cleaning as per the lease. Despite providing video evidence of the apartment's spotless condition after we moved out, management has ignored our repeated emails and has provided no justification for the unjustified cleaning charges. Nor have we received a single penny of our deposit back. The lack of professionalism, poor communication, and blatant disregard for legal requirements have resulted in significant frustration and inconvenience. If you're considering renting from Rustic Ridge Villas, we strongly urge you to think twice. The management has shown no respect for tenants’ rights or their time, and they fail to meet basic legal obligations. Renting here could lead to unnecessary stress and financial loss, and we wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Unless they make serious improvements to their communication, transparency, and respect for the residents, we recommend looking for a more trustworthy and tenant-friendly property.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

A sweet first home!
May 16, 2023My now husband and I chose this apartment specifically because I would be living alone until we got married. The safety factor of the apartments alone were such a blessing. I felt so safe and had no anxieties. The apartments themselves are kept up very well, lots of light, a nice quiet community of people. I have loved living here. Every maintenance request has been dealt with quickly and efficiently and our landlord cares very deeply for her tenants. I would recommend Rustic Ridge to anyone.Review from Apartments.com

Great place for KCU students
July 1, 2021Rustic is a great place for first year med students, especially those new to the Joplin area. I moved here from California, and found Rustic Ridge an excellent place to be able to quietly study. A lot of KCU students rent from here, and there were even a few in my year. Lisa, the property manager, is a wonderful person and very accommodating to new renters. She is extremely kind and willing to work with people to figure out situations. September 23, 2015Quiet area, great pool, spacious apartments. comes with a full size washer and dryer plus all the appliances. It was the best apartment I could find with everything I wanted.
