More than enjoyed my lease
August 1, 2024Stayed for 15 months and would have liked to stay longer had familial obligations not taken me out of merced. Never an issue with management, prompt communication with everything, helpful move in/out process. Only had one drain issue and it was resolved within a day (knife cover stuck in drain, my fault but maintenance was fantastic about it). Upgraded cameras for security and never packed parking with visitors. Neighbors all friendly/kept to themselves. Great location if i had still been going ...to school. Great manager and staff, clean
June 23, 2020I've lived in Sahara for two years and have really enjoyed my time here. The apartments are clean, and the neighbors are friendly. One of the biggest advantages is the staff - both Viviana (management) and Chris (maintenance) are very friendly, responsive, and help maintain an excellent atmosphere for the complex. They also address any repairs and questions immediately. Both the UC Merced shuttle and Merced city bus stop right outside on G street, making it easily accessible with or without a ...car.Property Manager Responded

Clean; great manager and staff
April 10, 2020I lived here during my 3 years of training before having to relocate back home to be closer to family. Viviana (property manager) was very helpful when I had to make the initial out-of-state move to CA and was also understanding when I needed to leave the area. All minor and major repairs/requests regarding my unit were dealt with IMMEDIATELY by Viviana and the maintenance worker, who was always very friendly and respectable when he was working around my property and space. My neighbors were ...also friendly, and on more than one occasion, even made sure my property and unit were safe. My only recommendation would be to request a non-smoking room if you have asthma and do not smoke, (although they are in the process of converting the premises to entirely non-smoking). A Safe Place to Live
April 29, 2018I lived in Sahara apartments for almost 3 years. I had a pleasant experience living there. What I really liked about Sahara apartments was that it was very safe. During all this time, I never witnessed or heard of burglaries or other types of crimes happening within the complex. Also, the management and maintenance are very responsible and helpful when there is a problem with home appliances. In addition, I really liked its grounds, it was green and had beautiful flowers so you could enjoy both ...the view and the good smell. Sahara apartments is particularly convenient for UC students since it is less than 5 minutes walk from C1 bus stop. The apartment complex is also close to Rite-aid, Walgreens, UPS and Save Mart. So if you do not have a car, you can easily walk to all these places. Over all, Sahara Apartments is a nice and safe place to live.Property Manager Responded

Great and quiet place to live in!
April 6, 2018I recently moved out from a 1 bedroom apartment after living there for almost 2 years. I had a great experience living there. The apartments are really clean and there is no bugs or roaches. They are also very quiet. The maintenance guy Cristobal always kept the apartments clean and was really kind and polite. If there was ever a problem in your apartment he would fix it the next day. I was a college student at that time and the bus stop was right in front of the apartments so that was really ...helpful for me. Furthermore, the manager was really nice all the time and very polite. If I had any questions regarding the apartments she would answer them right away. The price is a bit pricey, but if you ask me I would say it is worth it.
