Poor communication

Shadow Creek is a decent place to live. It is in a safe part of town, and there is local shopping for groceries, apparel, and many other things.
The management has improved, they are on the third set since I moved here last year. They are changing things quite a bit and it is promising, but it can only move so fast. was not made aware of it I tried to let my auto-pay take care of everything. I am discovering that the auto-pay feature for rent is a little too risky. As mentioned before, you will get charges and no one will tell you, so if you are not actively checking and specifying how much to pay you will likely have late fees. Even if you try to set up an option for over payment, the system has some bugs and will not take enough to cover your new charges.
The maintenance here is a bit of a joke. The gate is constantly broken, though given this is not necessarily a bad area that is tolerable. When things break down in your apartment, it will usually take a few days for the maintenance crew to respond unless you keep bugging them and the office workers. On top of that, they do not know how to repair AC units in the slightest. I have not yet lived here a year and my unit has broken down 8 times, it was even broken when I moved in. Each time I have made an effort to ask the office employees (since I have yet to meet a maintenance worker) what they did to fix the issue, and each time they give me the same answer. They have done the same "solution" over and over again, and it continues to yield a temporary result.
All and all, this is not a bad place to live. The office people are generally nice, and the neighbors are not bad either. The only real downsides are the highway noise, trash left around doors and hallways, surprise payments, and less than satisfactory maintenance.
