Terrible management, broken down and dirty apartments
September 4, 2025Terrible management, broken down and dirty apartmentsReview from Apartments.com
Please, choose somewhere else to move!
September 3, 2025If you are looking to move here, PLEASE take notice of the more recent reviews, and choose SOMEWHERE ELSE to live. Overview of the bigger issues we faced personally: -NO AIR CONDITIONING: Our AC was broken off and on for our entire time here, eventually going out completely. We spent the summer months of May through August "on the list" for a new unit, and with no working AC. I wish I was exaggerating when I say it got up to 88 degrees in our apartment. Consistently. For weeks. Our neighbors ...had the same issue. 1 window unit was eventually supplied about a month after our AC went completely out, which helped the bedroom only. Essentially, if you are in a unit that has AC issues, don't expect it to be fixed quickly. Never mind the idea that it being 90 plus degrees outside in summer qualifies the situation for "emergency maintenance". We lived in that apartment unit for over a year and never had fully functioning AC. -NO AFTER-HOURS MAINTENANCE: There is only an emergency maintenance email...no phone number anymore. This email goes to the office ladies directly. When they work 9am-5pm, you would be correct to assume that any issues after those hours or on weekends are not handled until whenever they get to them later. Also, we were told specifically by Tracey in the office that our AC issues were not their priority, new move-ins are, and we were still "on the list" for an AC replacement....after being told the same thing the previous summer... that we were "on the list". - UNDERSTAFFED MAINTENANCE, NOT SPEEDY: Overall, the maintenance men are wonderful, but there are not enough of them for all the issues that take place at this apartment complex. This has been voiced to us specifically by maintenance themselves. -POOL NOT OPEN For both summers we lived here, the pool was not open until mid-July or late June respectively. So, if the pool is important to you, don't count on being able to enjoy it as much as you'd like. As I said, maintenance is understaffed. It's a pity, because we liked the location and our apartment unit itself. But no AC and no fix in sight led us to move. Our experience here was not great at all, and we absolutely do not recommend this apartment complex to anyone, due to HOW our issues were handled. No apology was ever given for our situation, let alone compensation of any sort. A little sympathy from the office management would have gone a long way for our respect of Shillito Park Apartments.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Disregard some of the reviews
June 27, 2025Our a/c went out yesterday, in the middle of the hottest day of the year. I called our leasing office and within minutes maintenance was there to fix the problem. Maintenance worked way past their normal schedule to make sure everything was working properly before leaving. Thank you for taking care of us.Review from Apartments.com
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE
March 1, 2025Let me start off by saying that i'd rather be homeless than live here again. The amount you pay for rent is absurd for the low quality of service, communication, and maintenance. How would you like for your AC to be broken during the hottest months of the year? Mine was broken for 6 MONTHS out of my year lease.. They switched management without informing anybody of the change that occurred. Getting out of the lease is a hassle for no reason, they refused to sign my notice of termination so going ...through corporate was the only sense of security i had to know that i wasnt going to be trapped into a automatic lease. Also good luck being able to park close to your building walking a good bit is normal. Dont let the amenities fool you, THEY ARE NOT WORTH IT. I hope you can feel the passion through the screen as you read this. Dont make the mistake i did, live literally ANYWHERE BUT HERE. Zero stars should honestly be a option i would give it less than that.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
January 2, 2025The ONLY perk of living here is the location. Due to multiple staff turnovers, I'm starting to believe that nobody wants to work here, let alone fix this place up. Property in great disrepair, from the 'clubhouse' to the grounds to multiple units. Things I have personally experienced while living here: - leaks from upstairs apartment being ignored for months leading to apartment flooding, vents falling out of the ceiling, ceiling damage - being told I was opting in for renters insurance during ...sign up when its actually a damage waiver for the apartment, not for the tenant, and now I have water damaged items that I have to pay for our of pocket due to the negligence of management. - office staff ignoring phone calls and emails so often that I just go in person every single time now - multiple staff turnovers (No less than 4 since I've moved here, leading to lapses in communication and endless frustration. - an excess of dog poo everywhere - broken coin operated laundry with no change machine - my unit was not move in ready when i got here; dirty, needed multiple things fixed, and it didn't get fixed until 2 months in. I went without a microwave for over half a year before they fixed it. Maintenance left two giant bags of trash outside my front door and would NOT take them when I moved in - water damaged gym with broken machines/rusty handles - fences have holes ripped out of them to give access to hwy. this leads to multiple people helping themselves to dumpsters and the adjacent park through the lot. There's also a homeless encampment under the bridge near the train tracks that has an OPEN PATH through the fence to the property. - trees falling on multiple cars then sitting there for DAYS because property managers failed to do anything about it - stair ways covered in poo, metal shards, glass, and some unknown reddish brown liquid that lead up to the other levels - when icy, failure to salt sidewalks that don't surround the office (neglecting residents in favor of office staff) - pool wasn't opened until sometime in July despite it getting hot in May - rotting porch and railing (unless you're in a lucky building near the front. Last year they rebuilt a few porches but, like most things here, abandoned the endeavor) - murky fish pond with broken filters that no one takes care of - dogs being off leash and starting fights with other dogs - rent changing price (going up) twice between my application and me actually getting to sign my lease Don't live here!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Horrible place
November 10, 2024Please do not sign a lease here. The five stars reviews are fake. Residents live with no heat, no air, no sinks, raccoons, animals in walls and “amenities” that are dirty and uncared for. A resident had their car crushed by a tree because they don’t cut them. Do not make this mistaksReview from Apartments.com
If I would have known more before signing I would have never moved here
July 17, 2024To start off this apartment since we moved in last year has run through so many property managers and other staff. We were moved into our apartment last year and nothing was up to standards. They didn’t clean, paint, repair anything before us moving in and till this day have still things that have not been able to get fixed since Maintence keeps changing here as well. Things seemed to be improving with Dyana and Michael they were really making improvements here and we’re doing the best they could ...with the mess they were given. They got the pool open, Michael and Dyana were out there constantly doing what they could for residents to get things fixed. We had a plan to make repairs and improvements since the company is raising rent my apartment deserves to be at the same standard as the others but now is not going to be done due to them no longer working here. I wanted to resign my lease because of Dyana and Michael but now that they have left I do not recommend moving here. The gym is constantly leaking from the ceiling in spots, the vents look like they have mold in the gym, the washer and dryers only a few seem to work. You can pay what they are asking for at a nicer apartment with better amenities and have staff that will answer the phone and make repairs in a timely manner somewhere else. You never know if the office will be open or closed here and whoever new you may meet.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

June 26, 2024We have lived here for a year in half, and have loved it! there are so many things do do! A nice gym, swimming in a salt water pool, a theater to sit back and relax to watch your fav show or movie & beautiful park right next door!Review from Apartments.com
Great Apartment!
June 9, 2024I just recently moved in and am enjoying living here so far! The May move-in special was a game changer for me and my roommate. So far this apartment has had everything we need with an affordable rent compared to other similar apartment complexes! I love that the unit has been recently renovated!Review from Apartments.com

Staff and place are wonderful
June 12, 2024From the beginning of my move in process, the staff had met me with understatement and patience. They were willing to listen and work with you within means and it was very appreciated. With this being my first move on my own, their understanding of matters, while trying to fix everything, they have made my living expense very comfortable.Review from Apartments.com
