I've lived in various apartments the past few years surrounding Purdue, this apartment blows them all out of the water.
Apartments around campus tend to either be exceedingly run down and poorly managed or extremely expensive. This is the first place I've been in YEARS where I felt like i was getting my money's worth. The apartment is very modern and well built, including things I wouldn't even have thought of like firewalls between units and metal door frames on the entrance.
Staff is ...
wonderfully friendly and helpful. I was deployed when my fiance was making arrangements to move in, but they still greeted me by first name when I was able to arrive in person for the first time. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but that's a huge green flag to me. Staff personally walked us through our unit before moving in with a move-in inspection checklist to ensure all damages already in the unit wouldn't be pinned on us. (Granite does their very best to make sure we don't know move-in checklists are a thing).
The property is beautiful. Lots of greenery and natural space, very well maintained modern architecture, and it's so QUIET. Gone are the days of college parties in the unit upstairs.
A more personal experience: the neighbors are incredibly friendly. This is the kind of place to raise your kids and make lifelong friends with your neighbors. I have pleasant conversations with everybody I pass, and I've socialized more with neighbors in my first two weeks here than I ever have in the three years prior living in West Lafayette.
All in all, I have nothing but glowing praise for this complex. Everything I've ever had issues with when it came to previous apartments is non-existent. Quick maintenance, personable staff, quality construction and fixtures, fair pricing, trash removal service, good location, friendly neighbors, and cooperation between staff and tenants.
10/10, would recommend.

I've lived at Southern Winds for nearly 3 years and have really enjoyed my experience. The apartments are nice and the staff is very friendly and efficient. The apartments are fairly new and spacious. My only complaint is the location since there is nothing within walking distance.
