Save yourself the headache
November 4, 2021 - Review from Apartments.comI haven’t been here long less than 2 months and I’m already in the process of terminating my lease. This place has bugs everywhere, I’ve put in for a service request weeks ago no one has bothered to fulfill the request. The other tenants here steal pretty much everywhere and anything they can get their hands on. So please do not order DoorDash, instacart or from Amazon because your things will get taken. there are no sense of cameras within the building so there’s no security. The other ...tenants here are odd and believe that they can come directly into your apartment without your knowledge. As well as the stinching smell of cigarette smoke, loud neighbors yelling and fighting in the hallways. It's safe to raise a family or to live as a single, affordable and they have the friendliest professional staff including management that I have interacted with. My reasons for moving 3 times were for upgrading or more space. I started with a one bedroom maybe 600 ft apartment with all utilities included. Two years later, I realized that I need more space and wanted to stop paying for storage up ...the street. So, I move into a spacious one bedroom with maybe double the footage a couple buildings over. Paying some utilities with a clean laundry room located on site without leaving out of the building. Well, I am a shopaholic as they know because they will sign for deliveries not having the risk of it being stolen. Once again, I realized that I needed more space to accommodate my habits Lol. So, I recently moved into a townhouse. I absolutely love my 3 level house with all appliances included yes washer and dryer too. Although I am no longer in one of their apartments. I still have access to all of the wonderful amenities here such as community room or as I call it. An over sized cozy loving room with a huge updated flat screen TV, comfortable beautiful furniture, pool table and computer station. There is a community hall that can be rented out. I still use the fitness center with a dry sauna and whirlpool that only the residence have the pleasure of using because it is lock and you must have a key to gain entrance as a safety feature once the staff or leasing office has closed. Not to mention the gorgeous clean outdoor pool area with a newly granite top BBQ grill that we can use. With plenty of sitting furniture as well. Finally, Village Green of Southgate has made me feel that I am apart of the family. I haven't had an issues and very small maintenance concerns that were handled in a timely manner. I also love that they do give back to the residence via different incentives for paying your rent on time, giving different holiday functions for kids and or adults. Free movie night in the cozy over sized living room with food, drinks or snacks. I love, love living and being apart of Village Green Apartments of Southgate Community. And I'm really coming here to say that this complex had BED BUGS!!! Never in my 10 years of renting have I had a problem with bed bugs until i came here 4 months ago. Instead of bombing the building they only spray infected rooms. I got a look at their list when they wrote my room number down and there were 10 for the month that had bed bugs!! Very pet friendly and accommodating, literally all my neighbors have dogs. Good outdoor spaces within the apartment community. Jason in the office is wonderful to work with. He will go the extra mile to help out either it being going on apartment tours, signing your lease , to answering questions. Waste of Time
March 20, 2017 - Review from Apartments.comI went there last weekend to view an apartment. When I got there, I was never welcomed, they didn't show me anything, not even the complex. It was a complete waste of time. The employee who "took care" of me didn't want to move out of his chair. It was extremely frustrating and a HUGE waste of time. Customer services SUCKS!
Be prepared to have maintenance banging on your door at early hours, all the time.
October 6, 2016 - Review from Apartments.comThis is by far the worst apartment complex I've ever lived in for one reason: they constantly send maintenance into your apartment at early hours of the morning. I work the graveyard shift and get home at 7am. Their maintenance crew always shows up between 8-9am, waking me out of a freshly obtained and much needed sleep. This has happened FIVE times, twice without any more than 24 hours notice - often I didn't find out until I got home from work and realized they'd be here in a couple hours when ...all I wanted to do was fall asleep. THIS IS INACCEPTABLE. I know you have to repair your units but these repairs have all been unneccesary - replacing a window that was perfectly find, doing "moisture readings", one time they woke me up so they could touch up ONE TINY spot of drywall they forgot to patch the morning before. I have never lived in an apartment where this happens. In fact I've only had an apartment maintenance crew ask for permission into my apartment at one other complex - and even then they showed up at a reasonable time (1pm).Read More
