December 5, 2024Roaches are constant in the apartments, and maintenance takes there time when something is wrong. no matter how clean you are there is a huge roach problem.Property Manager Responded

The worst place I’ve ever lived
May 22, 2018I’ve lived here for a year almost and everything seemed fine whenever I moved in, only until the plumbing started to mess up within two weeks of me living here. Took them almost two weeks to fix it, leaving me without a kitchen sink and dishwasher. After that problem was fixed, the plumbing in the bathroom started to mess up; which resulted in my bathroom flooding 3 different times as well as my hallway closet and the wall nearest to my bathroom from my bedroom. The carpet had been replaced twice ...due to that. It seems like they’ll let just about anyone live here, as well. 1-2 months later some people moved in across from me. Not sure who was on the lease, regardless of the fact, there was always at least 8-15 people in the apartment all the time. They’d play their music loudly, fight often, smoke their weed blatantly with no care, to the point I could smell through the air ducts, and be up all hours of the night. Management had warned many times, cops were called due to fighting, yet nothing ever happened. It feels like only when I am here that my allergies are the worst they’ve ever been, like there is mold or other allergens inside the walls. This place is far from inhabitable, in my opinion. Just be aware of the place and the people that live near you. Some neighbors are great, but the place is not worth the money you pay.Property Manager Responded
May 22, 2018Good morning and thank you for your comments. We do appreciate the feedback so that we may continue to try and improve our service department. I believe that the plumbing issue that you are speaking of effected the entire building and not just your apartment and our regional maintenance director became involved. We contracted the issue out to our plumbers and it was taken care of in a prompt and timely manner. This issue you had with your neighbors and their habits took time through the legal system to get them removed. I believe since the plumbing issue and your neighbors being gone, you have not had any other issues that we are aware of, please notify the office if you are having trouble. Again, thank you for your residency and commentary on your stay with Southwinds.

Smoking
October 5, 2016They claim that this complex is "Smoke Free". That is a complete lie. Several of the tenants in my building smoke and the smell lingers into my apartment. I am a non-smoker with children and this is very invasive and inconsiderate of the apartment owners/staff. I have reported that I can smell cigarette smoke strongly in my apartment and they literally told me "there's nothing I can do about that". Great place
August 29, 2015I love these apartments. We have lived here for 3 years. Connie will do anything to help if you ask her. They just finished redoing the siding and roof so the green siding is gone. There is a lot of cabinet space especially in the bath room. the bedrooms are huge compared too the other apartments we looked at. also has a pool. Its also close to everything which makes get food or anything else easy.Review from Apartments.com
