Problem not solved
July 25, 2017We are very disappointed that there are beg bugs situation. After a year and a half, they're still here. The exterminator comes, sprays and in a few days they're back. Can't move because they won't give security back and let people out of their leases. There are many families being subjected to this.Property Manager Responded

Affordable pleasant place to live....
August 14, 2015This is a 55 community nestled in a very busy part of Amityville, NY off of Route 110. It offers amenities such as a life-guarded pool in the summer months, tennis courts, a large clubhouse and a sufficiently equipped fitness room. There is also a newly-updated and nicely designed laundry room on the premises, for those who do not opt for the washer/dryer combos in their apartments. Grounds are well kept by the landscapers and by the maintenance crew here at Southwood. Snow clean-up as far as ...the parking lots and the sidewalks are immediately attended to and so are repairs that might be needed. There is soon to be a large shopping area right across the street for the tenant's convenience sometime in late 2015 or early 2016. There are also, in walking distance, many stores and restaurants in the surrounding area.The apartments here are one bedroom, but are well-laid out and spacious with adequate closet space and storage. Pets are allowed but an additional security and monthly fee is involved depending on whether it is a dog or cat. Which seems to be the norm nowadays with apt. rentals. A hired security person rides the parameters of the complex nightly also. All in all, a friendly, well-run apartment complex. Many have been here for more than 20 years, which kind of tells you something. I would say the only thing that keeps me from giving a 5-star rating is the traffic sounds from Rt. 110, as it is one very busy roadway.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
