Not as great as it was.
March 19, 2025I moved in after COVID and it was the best apartment complex I have ever lived in. Maintenance staff was incredible and as were the staff in the office. The complex was purchased by new owners a couple of years ago and basically everything has gone down hill. Snow removal is nonexistent, the mail system is a joke. They nickel-and-dime you for everything now. It’s no longer the nice complex it once was. There’s not many options in Rapid but if you can find something else I would recommend it. Not an apartment person - but love it here. :)
July 16, 2024I've lived at Stoney Creek Highlands for about 2 months now. This is my first time living in an apartment complex and it's gone better than I could have expected. There are so many amenities for residents as well as multiple community events each month where they serve dinner or treat us to ice cream. The three individuals in the office have been incredibly kind, helpful, and clearly take their jobs and the residents' satisfaction seriously. :) As far as apartments go, this one has an outside ...entrance to each apartment with only 5 other apartments close enough to see your neighbors consistently. Any time I have had a maintenance issue they are quick to take care of it. The office staff are always friendly and helpful. The apartments themselves are well maintained and clean. The maintenance staff are always nice to my son who's three and doesn't understand personal space yet. The office puts on monthly events in the clubhouse for residents which are a lot of fun. Great Apartment Compex - Great Value
November 17, 2023We chose to relocate to Rapid City upon retiring. Prior to our move, we took a road trip to explore Rapid City and The Black Hills and search for a suitable two-bedroom apartment. While there were numerous apartment complexes in Rapid City, none had quite captured our attention until our last day before heading home when we stumbled upon Stoney Creek Highlands. Stoney Creek Highlands proved to be the perfect fit for us. The pricing was just right, the apartment layout was ideal, and the ...availability of garages was essential for our needs. The office staff exhibit exceptional friendliness and a strong commitment to accommodate their residents. They are highly responsive and go out of their way to assist residents promptly. Notably, maintenance requests are addressed on the same day, which greatly contributes to our satisfaction. To our pleasant surprise, they even offer free notary services, saving us from potential expenses. The grounds at Stoney Creek Highlands are very well maintained and astonishingly quiet; you can hear a pin drop at night. We love the parcel pending lockers and the fact that they have a ton of social events. Look No Further!
October 30, 2023My family and I have lived at Stoney Creek since late 2019-a little over four years now. Our immediate thoughts when we came across the ads were that the property grounds and the living spaces were well-maintained, and had a modern/updated feel and appearance to them. We were also surprised to know that a washer and dryer came pre-installed INSIDE the units, which we weren't accustomed to from previous apartments we've stayed in. My family and I also enjoy taking advantage of the gazebo area ...with the grill, the pool, the kids playground, and the walking areas when the weather is nice out. There's also a dog park, but we've never used it as we don't have a dog. The original office staff that were employed here when we first moved in has since changed, but the service and professionalism has been consistent throughout our years here. They're always attentive and willing to help with whatever matter or issue we're having. Although we rarely participate, they are constantly hosting morale/community events to foster a welcoming and friendly community for the tenants. Some examples include their movie nights, food truck nights, offering free ice cream or hotdogs and hamburgers by the pool, or just recently their pumpkin carving social. The maintenance personnel have always been great at what they do and go out of their way to ensure our living space is maintained and every issue we have is fixed ASAP. For example, we had a recurring issue with our water heater that they've come out to fix promptly every time. When the property switched to updated heaters, they made sure that we were the first tenants to get ours replaced due to the history which shows that they track those things and plan around them (proactive vs reactive). They're also on top of other things like snow removal and sprinkling ice melt on the roads and walkways so tenants can safely come and go as they please when we have heavy snowfall. I work at the Air Force base which is a good 20-30min drive each way based on the road conditions and traffic. It'd be so much easier and cheaper for me to move out and live somewhere closer, or even move on base, but we can't complain about Stoney Creek Highlands at all. All of the staff, amenities, the property, our unit (2B, 2B), and the location are great for us and we can't imagine going through all the trouble of moving just to go somewhere else that is worse.
