My family and I have lived at Stoney Creek since late 2019-a little over four years now.
Our immediate thoughts when we came across the ads were that the property grounds and the living spaces were well-maintained, and had a modern/updated feel and appearance to them. We were also surprised to know that a washer and dryer came pre-installed INSIDE the units, which we weren't accustomed to from previous apartments we've stayed in. My family and I also enjoy taking advantage of the gazebo area
...with the grill, the pool, the kids playground, and the walking areas when the weather is nice out. There's also a dog park, but we've never used it as we don't have a dog.
The original office staff that were employed here when we first moved in has since changed, but the service and professionalism has been consistent throughout our years here. They're always attentive and willing to help with whatever matter or issue we're having. Although we rarely participate, they are constantly hosting morale/community events to foster a welcoming and friendly community for the tenants. Some examples include their movie nights, food truck nights, offering free ice cream or hotdogs and hamburgers by the pool, or just recently their pumpkin carving social.
The maintenance personnel have always been great at what they do and go out of their way to ensure our living space is maintained and every issue we have is fixed ASAP. For example, we had a recurring issue with our water heater that they've come out to fix promptly every time. When the property switched to updated heaters, they made sure that we were the first tenants to get ours replaced due to the history which shows that they track those things and plan around them (proactive vs reactive). They're also on top of other things like snow removal and sprinkling ice melt on the roads and walkways so tenants can safely come and go as they please when we have heavy snowfall.
I work at the Air Force base which is a good 20-30min drive each way based on the road conditions and traffic. It'd be so much easier and cheaper for me to move out and live somewhere closer, or even move on base, but we can't complain about Stoney Creek Highlands at all. All of the staff, amenities, the property, our unit (2B, 2B), and the location are great for us and we can't imagine going through all the trouble of moving just to go somewhere else that is worse.
I highly recommend giving this property a chance if you're looking for a place to call home.
