Quaint living in the heart of Hayward
October 9, 2020For years, this community has had struggles with trash and trespassers as it is on a major street but recently the management has been improving the situation. Summerwood is a nice, quiet apartment complex with very nice landscaping and a large pool. I've lived here going on 4 years and hope to stay here until I can purchase a home!Property Manager Responded

look past the clean look
September 14, 2020Garbage is an issue. Office unwilling to fix the situation. Had to call code enforcement. Laundry rooms are scary had homeless sleeping in it. Mice in the walls of the apartment. Revolving door for people moving in and out. Major issues with brown water backup and toilet constantly clogged. Looks nice on the outside but even the rehab apartments are not great. replaced outside cupboard doors but inside still falling apart and rotting. Security is an issue. Gate are broken or people park in ...front of the gate so you have to let them in so you can get in.Property Manager Responded

August 14, 2015A little overpriced for those of us who have been here for awhile. We are paying high for apartments that were never renovated. Old owners were better at day to day things like cleaning up after dogs, cleaning laundry rooms (counters and floors daily!) , tagging cars that have not moved in months, cleaning the spider webs weekly (new guys never have done it). New owners and management are doing better at fixing big things outside like sidewalks and the buildings wood.Review from Apartments.com
It's Ok
August 4, 2015This complex is located close to a bart station and walking distance for the grocery store. Also located within a mile of movie theater and restaurants. However, the complex is in need of repairs all over the place. The cabinets in the bathroom and kitchen have been painted and chip very easily due to poor ventilation and the drawers are very difficult to open or close. The previous tenant had a dog that chewed on the door jam and instead of being replaced it has just been painted over. Spider ...webs allover the building and stairs makes the building look covered in felt. The pool fence is rusty and breaking apart along the bottom of the fence. The only plus is they have finally replaced the machines in the laundry rooms. Plenty of storage space. It doesn't look like they have any breed or size restrictions on dogs. Visitor parking is always filled by tenants. Gym only has three cardio machines and only open 8:30am to 10pm. No rent control. Staff is friendly.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
My New Apartment
July 22, 2015As I entered into the Leasing Office I knew immediately that I wanted to be a future resident. The property was amazingly rewarding in view and I felt at ease at the peacefulness and tranquility of the buildings. I was impressed with the professional welcoming of the management and even the office layout was impressive. My apartment was wonderful as well along with a great pool, lounging area outdoor furniture,and a exercise room. My stepson said "I want to live here forever".
