Amazing complex

Everyone is amazing here.
April 23, 2024All the staff is amazing - in fact, this is on my top 2. However, there was a Crack in the wall under the window in the room we were shown, so the apartments have some minor issues. I'm still deciding, but I may end up living here.Property Manager Responded

Roaches
April 6, 2023Summit On The Lake was the first apartment complex I ever lived in. My excitement diminished quickly as I started to see cockroaches after a week of living there. I first reported this issue to the previous leasing manager, and it was brushed under the rug. This then led to an even bigger issue, where I was seeing 15-20 German Cockroaches a day. When the new (and current) leasing manager became aware of it, my apartment was assessed by pest control and I was told there was an infestation but ..."ground zero" was not in my apartment and another one next to me. I was told to seal all my food, keep my apartment clean, and not leave crumbs or dishes around. I am a full time college student that also works full time, so you can imagine I didn't have a lot of time to create messes- and if I did then I was diligent in making sure it was cleaned up. I spent the entire year lease living with roaches, and received over 6 German Cockroach Treatments. I was constantly sick while living there, and I assumed it was due to the chemicals that were being used in my apartment over and over again remained ineffective. Despite the treatments that I received, the roaches kept living and continued to be an issue even towards the last week of me living at Summit on the Lake. When the roaches became an issue for the apartments above and next to me building 1 was told that every apartment would receive a clean out and we would have to pay. After multiple conversations and explaining why I would not be paying for the treatment of something that was there before me-> I received the treatment free of charge, which was the least they could do considering this was now month 7 of living with roaches. I was extremely disappointed that after moving out of state, my first apartment had an infestation. When it came time to move, I had to throw out multiple items in fear of transferring roaches to my new apartment. I think that the people that run Summit On The Lake are nice, but unfortunately are trying to manage an apartment complex that is too old to be fixed. Another thing to be aware of when considering leasing here is that there is no gate, and anyone can drive through the complex. As a female, this did not make me feel safe. At the end of the day, I wish I had nicer things to say, and a more positive experience here. If you lease here you will be lucky to meet people who care about their job, but unlucky to live with different critters and strangers coming and going.Property Manager Responded
