    • Construction nightmare

      January 18, 2025
      Construction is been going for over 8 months, now adding rocks everywhere which is unsafe for our children and dogs. Nature is being removed little by little , looks dry and awful, which is the reason we moved in is because of all the green. Communication with tenants is lacking and poorly managed. Doggie park is taken over by large unfriendly dogs, little dogs keep away.

      Overall, Advanced Management Company goes above and beyond for their tenants. AMC took ownership a few months back, and I have noticed exquisite, prominent changes. For starters, they repaired the spa that was constantly broken every 2 weeks with the old management. Then, they renovated the pool/spa by adding a beautiful awning and tiki lights. They added in brand new security cameras, making us feel more safe and protected. They fixed the parking gate that was constantly broken with the old ...
      management. Also, they have been consistently updating the landscape and shrubbery around the property, making it appear more inviting. Additionally, Surf House is a wonderful and safe community for pets! Speaking from a personal perspective, Joell is a magnanimous property manager. She is sweet, kind, professional, and extremely empathetic towards her tenants. She is always quick to respond via email or phone call. She always has a bright smile on her face to welcome her tenants and any prospective clients. She truly makes me and my fiancé feel appreciated and welcome living here. When we had a leak in our pipes underneath the foundation, Joell and the head of maintenance Oliver swiftly took care of the issue by hiring a plumbing team to repair the leaks. Now, our apartment looks as good as new again with no leaks! The maintenance team also made sure to deep clean the areas that were affected by the water that leaked out of the pipes through the floor. I am extremely impressed with how they treated us as tenants. I would highly recommend Surf House Apartments to anyone!

    • Horrible Place Stay Away

      We were given a week notice to move our apt around so they can install new windows. I requested to postpone because my wife and I are sick. Property manager agreed (liar). When I came back from the hospital I found that a group of people in my apartment and had moved everthing around. Now i am missing my personnal belogings and need to move everything back, with covid.

    • Huge parking problem and No solution !

      Do not live at the Citron house if you are planning to have any guests over after office hours… they don’t provide you with a guest parking permit and they tow cars even when you call and let them know. This ridiculous management expect residents to make plans ONLY during office hours !!!

    • Great place to live but horrible management team

      Renter beware - great apartments and amenities but the management team sucks. They are never available via phone for questions or issues and the manager is unprofessional and fake. She blamed a huge parking issue on the assistant manager when they failed to tell residents about the complex parking lots resurfacing. Management claimed they can’t mass email residents, so they put notices on every door at 9pm that said every car must be off property by 7am the next day for 2 days. The main ...
      manager said they knew about this for a week and it was her assistant manager’s fault for not telling residents. Cars were towed and there was no assigned place for residents to park off site. Would have been easier if the main manager did her job and followed up. This is only one of many issues residents at Citron House face. I’ve lived in a lot of places and never had so many issues with management.

      I live out of the area and was getting ready to move there. The complex met the parameters for what I was looking for and I wanted to lease an apartment. Going through the process there was some mix-up in the application process on my end and it was denied. I was trying to contact the management team to clarify those aspects for them so they could have clarity on their end. They are almost impossible to get in contact with. I had called them too many times to remember and no one ever picks up the ...
      phone in their office. It's rare if they do so consider yourself lucky if they answer. I had sent numerous emails to them and no one even takes the time to respond back. There were times when I would get in contact with them and explain the situation. Every time I talked to someone in that office, to include the Assistant Manger and Manger, they said they would call me back and help amend the situation. They never returned phone calls like they said they would and don’t follow through with how they said they would help. I wanted to live here but in the end the management team is absolutely unprofessional in every way when it comes to customer service.

      I would recommend, but I would mentioned that the rest is fairly high compared to areas closer to the beach (i.e. downtown). I may not recommended because you have to pay for a lot of things here, including trash, sewer, parking spaces, and a valet trash we never use (it would be nice if we could opt out of this fee).

    • Just ok. Look elsewhere.

      I started off really happy living here but by the end I was ready to move. First off, it's way overpriced for what it is and what you get. It's an old building, the windows rattle at the drop of a hat, the only amenities you really get as a resident are the pool and the dog park, and you will see homeless people rummaging through the dumpsters at some point and/or someone's car get broken into. There's no privacy due to the layout of the buildings and the thin walls, so expect to hear everyone's ...
      conversations at all times (and for yours to be heard too). At the end of the day, it's a mediocre building that's showing its age, off a not so great part of Beach Blvd, and the prices they're asking for are laughable. Second off, have low expectations for the leasing office here. This complex had a major fire that displaced 4 apartments in July 2021. The leasing office did not acknowledge it to any of its residents. How can you not, at the very least, send a memo to your residents just acknowledging that it happened and stating that you're on top of it? Once the fire happened I felt very unsafe living here. I often had to correct paperwork I would receive from the leasing office including outdated tenants that should not be listed anymore. It's frustrating as a resident when you pay the rent you pay and the leasing office cannot even fill out paperwork correctly. They just don't seem to care and it shows. Third, it was not unusual to see the valet trash service that you can't opt out of not pick up your trash. This happened on multiple occasion. Not the biggest deal but again, just frustrating when you're forced to pay for a service, and they don't follow through. Lastly, be prepared for the nightly swam of rowdy kids that completely take over the complex every night. They run around, yell loudly, take over the dog park, and ride their bikes all over the complex, so if you have a dog that you're trying to walk, it's extremely disruptive and almost impossible to do so while they're out. It's like clockwork every single night. Again, it just goes back to the point of you're paying such a high price to live here, and then you're dealing with these types of things.. it's just honestly not worth it. Find something better.
