Current resident here who moved to work at UAB. Fell in love initially as it was close to hospital, right on running trail, and beautifully constructed. However within the first month we encountered multiple issues including LOUD stereo/car garage across from apartment that will blast music during the day, NON-PRIVATE resident internet that is not secured if you need to work from home and is spotty throughout the day, horrible resident portal that hasn’t updated any payments since we moved in, ...
false notification from management about late payment threatening rental agreement termination, and lack of response of management to email/in-person to address these issues. It looks pretty from outside and touring, but these issues within 1.5 months of moving in has been horrible.
**also with the community internet if it is down then you can’t access any doors via their app to enter into the building or use the amenities

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We’re disappointed that your experience has not reflected the level of service we strive to provide at The Fitzroy. We have communicated with you regarding these concerns and have also invited you to meet with our management team in person so we can discuss everything together. That invitation remains open.
We do want to clarify a few items. The Spectrum service at The Fitzroy is not a community-shared internet connection. Each apartment home has an individually connected Spectrum service, and detailed information regarding the service, setup, and support has been provided to our residents.
Regarding communication, our team strives to respond to resident emails within 24 hours, and the emails we have received regarding these concerns have been responded to. The late notice referenced was a standard notice that was inadvertently sent community-wide. Once the error was identified, it was immediately retracted and residents were notified of the ...
mistake. We certainly understand how receiving that notice could have been concerning, which is why we worked quickly to correct it.
We also reviewed the resident portal concern when it was brought to our attention, and the account was updated within 24 hours. While we were welcoming approximately 50 new residents during that period, we continued working to address individual account questions as quickly as possible.
We understand that concerns can be frustrating, especially when settling into a new home. Our team remains available and would still welcome the opportunity to meet in person, review each concern directly, and work toward a positive experience at The Fitzroy.
