GERMAN Cockroaches!!!!!!
May 5, 2024First off the way that I am going to start this review is going to be very detailed. Number one- they are very unprofessional when it comes to fixing too maintaining the property. If you have an issue in your unit, just know they will half repair your unit. Number two- if you don’t like bugs and anything more with than six legs, then this is not the place for you. Number three- false advertising, Nothing about this place or complex is luxury please do not get misconstrued with luxury and ...bottom of the barrel. Number four- the staffing agency is very unpredictable every three months they change staffing and does not give you proper solutions or problems that you are dealing with. Number five- If you want a level apartment, I advise you to look somewhere else because the flooring and the units are not leveled to the slightest degree. FOOTSTEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT! Number five- I had recently moved out of the unit that I was currently living in and someway somehow I had transported German COCKROACHES with me to my new place. Am I disgusted of course I am? appalled of course I am. What can I do because when they multiply by 1,000’s if not that millions. BURN AND THROW EVERYTHING AWAY!!!! Number six- overall this has been the worst experience that I have ever been in living in Apartments so now I am getting to the point where I’m getting tired of Apartments tired of management groups tired of landlords and I just want to move on for the better for my family. DON'T EVEN TRY TO LIVE HERE
August 11, 2021Once you get past the fact that there is not a working ac unit it’s not half bad!! You can barely notice the cigarette smell after a few months. There are so many cool thing you can find outside your apartment like loose trash, guns (loaded of course) and other cool things. And after a long day “work” because you’ll be the only person who actually has a job that lives here, you can always count on a good nights sleep, just if you can ignore the constant drone of your neighbors four wheeler ...driving until 2am! And if you have any issues at your stay at the dexter, the front desk is always quick to help. After the 10th call, they maybe will come out to “help” you. So after you finally wake up from your “short sleep”, the only thing you need to do is pat off all the moldly dust off your body. The Dexter is definitely #1 in my eyes. Don’t Bother
August 10, 2021The best part of living at the Dexter is the fact that your lease will eventually expire. We moved in and found out the ac doesn’t work and still doesn’t work. The leasing office doesn’t do anything to help, every time I call for a work order it’s moved to completed but never seems to be fixed (Marvin in the leasing office hung up on me after my third month without ac). My apt smells like smoke, we’ve found handguns laying around and my packages never seem to arrive at my apt. Don’t live here ...unless you want to be miserable.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
An okay experience
June 15, 2021I moved in with a roommate who had already been living here since August of 2020. The apartment is nice, newly renovated and it has a spacious living space. My favorite part is the kitchen. The downside to this place: the ceilings are VERY low, so it can feel kinda crowded at times. There is only one window in the whole living room and it is not very big. The windows in the rooms are not very big either. For some reason, most of the apartments in Decatur do not have light fixtures in most of the ...rooms, and this is one of those places. We have A LOT of lamps in our home. They don't have outlets in places that would be very convenient (like under or new the bar counter area). I ended up having to get the fan in my bathroom turned off because it was obnoxiously loud. There is very limited storage in the apartment (2 bed 2 baths). Also, the management is very nice but they are very non-responsive. We went without a dryer for two months and every single time we called for an update, they acted like they didn't know who we were (even though we would call every week) and loved to say "let me call someone to see what's going on and ima call you right back" but would never call back. They did give us an alternative option during that time period, but I expressed to them that I did not feel safe with this option (seeing how we are two young females) and the man did not seem to care too much and was very dismissive. That was very concerning to me. Also, you don't have your own private patio (and they don't allow you to put up a curtain or anything to make it private either). Dexter at Decatur
January 18, 2020The apartments do not look like this at all. The newer apartments are nice, but do not let these fake pictures fool you. The management is horrible, & they show no concern for the people that live here unless they live in the new units. Even though it's not in the lease, you can only live here for a max of 3 years. February 18, 2019New management at KRC or Valley Brook Place, This place has been sold again 5th time in 5 years. The apartments are the worse, The New management is the worse management so far, very greedy and selfish. They have no regards for their tenants. Its my 5th time in a row going to them asking for a work order, Firstly the lady told me it is done online, I went to the library to apply for a work order and Nada 3 days later they completely declined my request to change my carpet and paint the house, ...since I have been living with them for the last 10 years.
