A Place to Call Home
February 22, 2023in 2014, I decided it was time to downsize and I ended my search, when I found our new home at the Grove Apt Community. As you drive through the gates to the community, you'll see perfectly manicured lawns, beds dotted with seasonal flowing plants, as well as seasonal shrubs and professionally trimmed and cared for trees. The office is conveniently located to greet guests, potential residents, and residents alike. As you walk through the door and enter the foyer, you'll see to the left, the ...resident community clubhouse, with a fully equipped kitchen, cafe style dining table and chairs, as well as lots of comfortable seating for watching tv, entertaining your guests, or just hanging out with your neighbors. The community offers two swimming pools, lounging furniture, tables and chairs, complete with umbrellas to shade yourself and your guests from the sometimes-scorching sun. Another perk of residency at The Grove is the fully equipped work out room, sauna, and adjacent restrooms, changing rooms, and showers. I have found that the office staff, Management and Maintenance staff are always prepared to assist residents with maintenance concerns, assist with paperwork, when needed, and they are always very congenial. I know people who have called The Grove Apartments their home for over15 years, and my son and I have been here for almost 9 years. The floorplans are spacious, are well suited for your family, or just a single individual. I have lived in a one bedroom, then moved into a 2 bedroom. I recommend this apartment community very highly. There are hundreds of multi-family unit choices in Bakersfield, and this one, by far is the one that can't be beat, in my opinion. I understand that they offer short term residency, as well as long term. Whether you are a traveling nurse, in escrow waiting for your home to close, or are looking to permanently "never move again", this, by far, is the apartment community you should seriously consider.Property Manager Responded

Beautiful apartment but not worth it
February 8, 2020They keep raising the rent and adding additional charges to overall payments, (water, garbage, sewage, maintenance issues)but everything is falling apart. Gates, gate pad and remote for gate aren't operating correctly and they've changed the keys without notice for the pool/gym. There are so many break-ins it's unsafe. People even broke in and stay in the empty apartments! People steal from porch/patio area and garages. Transients go through the trash all the time. Managment is unstable at best. ...They have lost rent checks and lost work orders. The price of rent and the nickel and dime rates they want aren't worth it. They don't even change the propane in the only allowed bbq grill often. OH and you have to buy your own light bulbs. Not a big deal if they were regular bulbs but they use an energy efficient $8 per bulb light that THEY said they would cover when we moved in. Not Luxury
May 8, 2018The Grove website uses superlatives such as luxury, premier, and country club, all of which are misleading. This may have been true over twenty years ago (1997) when the complex was new, but the pressed board cabinets, tile countertops, and tired carpeting are in dire need of updates. I would look for solid wood cabinets, granite or quartz countertops, and hardwood flooring in luxury or premier units. Regarding service and management as stated in a previous review, the problem seems to lie with ...the owners and off-site senior management. The owners' expectations for renting outdated units are not realistic. The management firm, Winn Properties, in turn places undue pressure on the on-site staff to perform miracles in terms of maintenance and leasing resulting in a high turnover rate for managers. The owners would do well to either give Winn Properties new marching orders as to how the property is handled or find a new management firm. Nice apartment, bad service
January 4, 2017I have a friend living at the Grove. She loves her apartment, but she can't seem to get management to take care of maintenance issues in a timely manner. In fact, it seems that there's not a manager there most of the time. They seem to have a high turnover rate for managers. I'm not sure what the issue is, but it's too bad because it's a very nice community and has a lot to offer.Review from Apartments.com
