Since August 2025, there have been ongoing and repeated issues with building security at Teays Valley Management properties, specifically exterior doors being left unlocked despite lease terms indicating secured access and monitored entry.
Early concerns were acknowledged with statements that doors “should absolutely be locked and secured,” but the issue continued without a consistent or lasting fix.
In December 2025, management stated in writing that exterior doors had been left unlocked “for ...
convenience” due to tenant lockout calls and staffing limitations. This directly conflicts with the expectation of controlled, secured building access communicated in the lease.
A formal complaint submitted in March 2026 was not addressed by management or ownership.
Additional concerns included intermittent loss of apartment access due to tenant app and fob deactivation. Replacement fobs were later issued, but were labeled with apartment numbers and reportedly left in an unsecured common area.
In June 2026, a serious security incident occurred during a period when exterior door security was not consistently maintained. Around the same time, it was also noted that camera placement did not capture activity at my apartment door.
These issues have been reported multiple times over an extended period with limited follow-through or meaningful resolution. The pattern of inconsistent communication and unresolved security concerns has significantly impacted tenant confidence in building safety and management accountability.
