Unjust carpet shampooing fee !

After renting the most expensive apartment for a year, we left Spokane and the apartment in spotless shape. Scott the office manager even commented that the whole apartment was clean. To our surprise, $200 was then subtracted from our deposit for "carpet shampooing" which should really be a practice and hence paid for by the apartment complex (BTW when I took over the lease of the apartment it was dusty and filthy). I did not receive proof that the carpet was then shampooed.

who cared enough to clean the apartment shouldn't be in any apartment business plan (can't blame this on the COVID virus). Attempts to get answers from the office staff only led to non-response which is why I am publicly expressing my frustration. Not sure anything will change, but you should know about this practice if you currently rent or you are looking to rent in this building.
