April 27, 2023Excessive fees. The apartments are beautiful, the area surrounding the community not so much. But the issue is the fees. They tried to make themselves seem comparable to other communities but I looked at 6 communities and The Mason is very excessive. Their pet fee is at least $100 more than anywhere else I looked and they do not offer a discount for the second pet ($750 fee for 2). They charge a $100 community use fee. Nobody else I looked at charges this. Also, instead of a refundable ...security deposit they charge a nonrefundable $300.00. So right there they are fleecing people out of $400. I could pay it, but there is nothing I hate worse than feeling like I am being taken advantage and I certainly left here with a bad taste in my mouth.Property Manager Responded

Lovely place
October 11, 2021They have beautiful apartments and a picturesque pool area. The gym has all of the common equipment one might use and also a really cool smart mirror that displays workouts. April 20, 2021The Mason is in the perfect location with a suburb feel, but easily accessible to Summerville or a drive down to the beaches or downtown Charleston. It has a true coastal South Carolina feel with Palmetto trees and a open layout with easy parking. You will regret renting here
April 7, 2021Apartment complex smells of weed constantly, and cops are called here regularly. We literally witnessed someone run from the cops through our breezeway and later get tazed by the police. We’ve had packages stolen from our front porch in a matter of minutes from being delivered and even got a phone call from the front office that they tried chasing this person but couldn’t catch him. It’s adjacent to a trailer park that burns their trash at least once a week. They try to lure you in with ...longer leases so you’re stuck here in this place until your lease expires. Front office is useless. I’ve been currently charged twice for the same month and their excuse was, “Oh, the systems are down, and we can’t do anything.” We can refund you the extra payment but it will take over 30 days for us to send you a paper check, which conveniently is when next months rent is due. This is a new apartment complex and the workmanship of this place is extremely sub par. There is paint splatters over the cabinets and our fridge leaked. Maintenance is trying their best but they are definitely working with a front office that doesn’t care. They make it seem like a high end apartment complex but it is absolutely not.Property Manager Responded
