A Great First Apartment!
October 8, 2024This is my first ever apartment that I moved into and I was very nervous at first, also overwhelmed because I didn't know what to expect however when I found this apartment complex I was greeted by Saniese which I assume is a leasing agent/consultant. She realized how overwhelmed I was and she made it very clear to me in regards of the moving process, documentation and pricing, while reassuring me. She was super helpful and I appreciate how open minded and helpful she is. She related and pictured ...what exactly I was looking for in an apartment and she was able to deliver what I was seeking. She was able to walk me through all the amenities and pricing that they had to offer and honestly I've never been so comfortable in my own space before. From the Pool (open during summers only), the tennis court and parks for both dogs and kids. This apartment is the best for both students and regular people looking for an affordable, quiet apartment complex to live in. Whether it's temporary or permanent The Oaks Apartments is the best to stay. It's also in a very convenient location, minutes away from downtown,Athens. There's a lot of restaurants around the complex as well and a Walmart that's close by as well! Also there's a really good modern day theater that's close by that I would recommend to anyone if you're feeling like watching the latest movie and don't wanna drive all the way to Atlanta.Property Manager Responded

Disgusting

I cannot believe my eyes
February 28, 2021There is no way that the photos seen here were taken at the Oaks! I have been in 3 different apartments in that complex. The description says "park-like setting," but it is NOT. It's a dirty parking lot, dirty sidewalks, dirty steps leading to the apartments, dirty stained balconies or patios outside. There is no landscaping, scant crabgrass, but a lot of dirt. The outside of the buildings are stained and dirty. The newly renovated apartments do not have granite counters as shown in these ...pictures. They are old apartments given a single coat of fresh paint, Formica with a granite print counters and new carpet/flooring. They are also close to a high crime apartment area and had several nights in that year of waking up to blue lights all over the parking lot. The people I knew there were scammed into signing the lease with the promise of the "new upgraded" apartments, then couldn't get out of them. It was a long year!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Issues from day one
December 13, 2020Upon entering our apartment for the first time. We found the tubs were cracked and peeling. The AC did not work, the was an infestation of drain flies and the utility room was crawling with pests. Management and maintenance do not care about your issues, multiple complaints have to be made to get the bare minimum results.Property Manager Responded

The place with no amenities
July 26, 2015the oaks is located on the east side of Athens right off of Lexington rd and Gaines school Ed which makes for high traffic all the time. On line when I first found this place it listed tennis courts , pool, laundry room , gym, club house etc. None of which have been open and available consistently. Yet the rent keeps rising. The ownership of the property and the name has changed. I hope with that will come real change .Review from Apartments.com
