Absolutely the WORST corporate apt I have had

I stayed here for work and at first glance the drive up the hill was ok. Entered the apt to find feathers all over the place from the couch. The place smelled like a dirty locker room. The sheets were dirty (found a hair too). Found kids socks under the bed. Found some sort of plastic I don't know what in the chair cushion. Used pump soap in the bathrooms. The toilet brush looked like it had been there for 5 years. Normally we get an apartment that is vacant and then cort furniture comes ...
in and places everything. NOT in this case. The apartment community has their own corporate apartments. I know all they did was move someone out and then move me in. There were bugs on the ceiling. Carpet was filthy. Black spots. They sent someone to clean but she didn't clean so our housing people sent someone else. Had the place exterminated. Had the carpet cleaned. Finally got to move out of there and stayed at a hotel which was so much better. Maintenance guy was super but office staff was lacking.

Very poor customer service. The older lady was the only one in the offices. She was to busy talking to acknowledge my visit. After waiting 10 minutes, I finally interrupted her to ask if someone would be able to give me a tour...she was rude.

It's just a few miles away from downtown Roanoke and also only a short drive from other surrounding towns and cities, which makes shopping, nightlife, job commutes, etc. extremely simple. Because the neighborhood itself has continued to build over the past few years, however, shopping and dining can be done all within a mile or two. My apartment is great for all. Whether you have children or you are single this apartment fits all. Tons of amenities and things to do. You can even wash your car. We put our house up for sale and were looking for a place to move into until we built a new house. We looked at dozens of houses and apartments. We went to all the apartment complexes in the area. We went to The Orchards in Roanoke and drove around the complex. We decided to walk around and talk to other residents before going to the leasing office. Everybody was very friendly and spoke highly of the complex. We looked at the pool, the dog park and the care of the grass and shrubbery. The parking ...
lots were well lit and there was plenty of parking spaces.
We went to the leasing office and as soon as we walked in we were greeted by Karla. She said she would help us as soon as she finished up with another couple and that we could help ourselves to coffee and look around in the gym, the clubhouse and pool. Karla showed us a three bedroom apartment for our family and two dogs. The apartment had new appliances, new carpet, fresh paint and was spotless. The bedrooms were very large (our king size bed fit fine).
We went back to the leasing office and she introduced us to Kevin and Timberly who also worked in the leasing office, they were all very nice.
I started asking many questions about the complex, contracts and maintenance. They gladly answered all my questions and concerns. We were very satisfied and were ready to sign a contract right then and there.
We moved into the complex and everybody loved it. The kids had other kids to play with. There are tennis courts, volleyball, pool with a clubhouse, BBQs and much more.
The Orchards is a great to live, we spoke to many residents who have lived there for years.
The staff is great, they try to do whatever it takes to make sure the residents are happy.

If I had one complaint it is about the A/C and heating units. In my opinion they are too small even for the one bedroom apartments and they are not efficient which causes your electric bills to be higher than necessary. The maintenance is excellent and they will fix everything in a timely manner. The grounds are always well maintained. The worst apartments ever. The construction of the buildings is terrible! Blue Ridge Management is the owner and they do not take care of buildings. Rains in through the windows, drafts, and very expensive, in fact more expensive than any other apartments in Roanoke. You are paying for a badly constructed building definitely not worth it!
