I am reaching out to the corporate property management team regarding my living situation. I moved in with my family on March 4, 2023. Since moving in, I have encountered several issues in our home.
Our washer machine not working properly and having to get a new one, needing assistance with the dryer that took my wife 5 different times to fix it, along with her googling the issue herself, conveying this to the maintenance department that still didn't listen, and took longer than expected to fix
...this issue, resulting in our clothes being moldy smelling due to the dryer not drying our clothes. Our heat did not work which had my family and I suffer, getting us sick due to the severe cold weather we encountered in March, resulting us to have to turn on the oven and open it for some warmth. We also mentioned our AC was not working, and this took several calls to the maintenance department before having a vendor come out to look at our air. The first time someone came out they said we needed refrigerant, only to find out that didn't work, so we called the office again. The second time they came out they said we needed a coil, and we were still not having our AC work. The third time they came out they said they had a part, and it would work, which to our surprise, it did! We had our AC for about 2 days and then had a big puddle on our hallway causing my 4-year-old to slip and fall. Our AC stopped working, and we called again only to have the technician come out and say the entire compressor doesn't work properly, and stated that he saw the issue the last time he was here, but it ignited once turned on, so he thought it wouldn't be an issue but said he mentioned it to the maintenance dept.
At this point, I would like to be compensated on my rent somehow for not only the lack of urgency on the issues above, but also the lack of caring when conducting a walk through on this apartment prior to us moving in, to determine if this was move in ready. (Which it was NOT)
We feel like this is an equivalent of buying a car that is a lemon, since being here for the past month in a half we have had to call the office over 13 times regarding some type of issue we have came across in our “NEW” place. Also, this last time with our AC not working was the hottest weekend Fri, Sat, and Sun all being over 85 degrees. It was hotter in our home than outside, my 4-year-old was throwing up due to being excessively warm. We called to complain again over the weekend, since the issue
