Beautiful building, excellent staff
November 2, 2024Formerly a first-class hotel, the Puritan Apartments is a beautiful facility with many amenities. I’ve been here for four years. The staff is courteous and helpful. One of the staff, a guy who handles Medicare questions, reviewed my Medicare supplement coverage and suggested a better one (a MUCH better one). His advice has paid off. There are plenty of activities and support. For example, there is a regular “commodities day” where residents can go to the lobby to pick up canned goods, vegetables, ...dry goods, etc. — all for free. One of the biggest draws for me is the little grocery store in the basement. I’m amazed at how much is available in that little space. Significant upgrade, excellent living space
November 3, 2021I moved in just after the Puritan was finishing up its comprehensive renovation. The apartments are wonderful. There are many benefits — free COVID-19 and flu inoculations, free food days, supportive and helpful staff (including excellent help in selecting supplemental Medicare insurance), on-site grocery store, and more. This is a major upgrade from where I was living before.Review from Apartments.com
Property is infested
July 25, 2021Attempted to assist a relative with affordable living due to low income and the model room looked nice enough so we decided to proceed. However upon the first night of staying there the room was infested with roaches. It took months to spray and clog holes to keep them from getting in and hundreds of dollars on traps. After getting the roaches manageable the building is now infested with bed bugs. Will be moving my relative out as soon as possible. Do not move here.
