Amazing Tour Guide
February 11, 2026I recently toured here and I must be honest and say for an older community the property was pretty well kept! The amenities were beautiful and the staff were nice and helpful. The apartments looked newly renovated. they were spacious and pricing was reasonable. All the leasing agents there were helpful and knowledgeable about the property and what they have to offer. She answered all my questions. The Retreat at Lakeland is top on my list we will keep in touch.Property Manager Responded

August 17, 2025First off I’m really not the person to ever write a bad review, but this place TRULY deserves a bad review. To the initial move in of being sold something not true by a former employee “Lima” and was told she was fired due to promising things, being told we can cancel our move in with a legit U-Haul parked in front because of us pointing out things Lima promised and they didn’t care. To the COUNTLESS times across the past year it’s taken me 10,20,30 times SERIOUSLY to even get them on the phone. ...To having a real bad roach problem and the pest control not caring AT ALL saying it is what it is so we had to fix it ourselves with front office not caring at all. Maintenance takes so so long to get things done, they tell you what you wanna hear to get you off the phone and never do what there saying there gonna do, you have to stay on them like children. The front gate was down forever for it to come back up for legit a week and half and it’s down again never works, pools always either dirty or shut down. There was so many hidden fees we didn’t know about until we were there signing for our lease on move in day and basically being bullied into it, We truly came in with great intentions and now we are SO HAPPY we are moving out tomorrow, This place ABSOLUTELY SUCKS and I thank god I don’t ever have to deal with these people again. Move somewhere better. This place is a 0/5 if I could press that. I’ve been waiting to write this review for MONTHS. Also think mold is growing. So trashProperty Manager Responded

May 1, 2025You pay so much for SO LITTLE. Staff is incompetent and responds to you like they’re bots with the same answers constantly. You can pay $35 for a reserved parking stall and then other people always park in and nothing gets done about it. They tell you to contact a courtesy patrol but out of the million times we’ve tried to call, we get no response back. So I’m sure it doesn’t exist. Was harassed by a neighbor after countless noise complaints on them and office staff didn't do anything, they just ...tell you to call the police. Trashy place, definitely move on and look elsewhere. I know it’s cheaper than a lot of places, but don’t live here!!! Trust me. There are a couple other places that are way nice and a couple hundred dollars cheaper. Tons of empty units because everyone is constantly moving out. Things break constantly. Paint on walls is so crappy if you try to wipe it then paint comes off and you’ll have to buy the paint to fix anything before you move out or you’ll be charged. It’s dark and feels like a cave. Pools are constantly closed. I could go on and on and on. And I know I’ll get some stupid robot responding to this telling me to contact them and they would love to discuss all this with me, but that’s not real either. So spare me!Property Manager Responded

Nothing gets fixed
March 11, 2025Been here 2 years a bunch of broken promises pool bathroom been out of order since I moved here front gate as well maintenance request take forever to be completed if they even complete them they try to fine you for everything but never do there part currently looking to move out this is your sign not to move here can’t say you weren’t told I won’t give this place 1 starProperty Manager Responded

Very strict community and slow to fix your apartment
September 3, 2024Very strict community, but the office staff is very nice. Maintenance will come fast in an emergency but I’ve been waiting now 33 days to get my running toilet fixed and a light changed. I have to call to get things done. Beware!
May 23, 2023We moved to The Retreat not so long ago, leasing experience was very good but once we moved to our unit problems started, they are few things that needs to be checked around and maintenance doesn’t seem to have a sense of urgency. We tried reaching out and everything delayed or no response sometimes. Maintenance Manager doesn’t seem to care or the Property Manager.If you can find something else, there are better options. October 24, 2022We rented an apartment in building 9. It was roach and mold infested. During our stay I got extremely ill and had to quit my job. At the time we had no idea there was mold until we deep cleaned before move out. I am convinced that my illness was because of that. Maintenance is very kind and will try their best. The offices could careless about your stay and if pest comes. We had to call several times a week to request pest control and get on the list for the next week. I was so thankful to move ...out and into a different apartment complex. This place is in a safe area of town but not worth the little money you save if you go to a newer apartment. Eager to help!
October 6, 2021I have been searching for a new rental, and found this listing. After contacting the leasing office by phone and by sending an e-mail request, I was able to speak to 2 (two) different agents within 45 minutes of each other. Both agents were extremely polite and friendly, and were very excited to give me ALL the info I wanted. In the end, I decided on a different property (price). Roaches and Apathy
October 17, 2020Do not rent apartment 11! They allowed us to move into a roach infested apartment, the exterminator told us that there has been a roach problem with that apartment for months because the apartment next to it is disgusting. After two months of dealing with them "taking care of" the problem they finally agreed to get us a different apartment when we pack up our lives and try to move into the new one the keys don't work. When we ask the girl working the office on a Saturday to give us thr right ...keys she says that only maintenance can handle that. We asked to speak with the property manager Whitney instead of the weekend girl and were told that she can't be bothered until Monday, she runs a complex with hundreds of apartments and can't be bothered to deal with problems on the weekend. I get apartment living comes with some negative aspects and accept that but the complete apathy from this complex is staggering. They have no problem letting you move into a roach infested apartment and take zero responsibility for it afterward.Property Manager Responded
