Renters BEWARE!
March 30, 2021Most unprofessional group of people I have ever dealt with IN MY LIFE! Rude. Pretentious. Disrespectful. The manager position is an endless revolving door; 3 in the 1.5 years I was there, when they change you have to rely on the new ones "willingness" to adhere to what the last communicated to you. I was hung up on multiple times ; I witnessed the a manager and staff bad mouthing residents and their financial condition. New manager never seemed to know what's going on and lives on empty ...promises. Not to mention the 10-15 calls you'll make before anyone even answers the phone. PROPERTY: Volleyball court is a pit filled with cigarettes, glass and trash under a dirty sand while the net hangs broken. Playground :outdated sand filled with trash. The main pool is rarely taken care of and the last time I was there I personally had to fish out 17 FROGS from inside the pool. The dumpsters! They are always overfilled and trash ends up all over the road. At night, rats are everywhere in dumpster and cars drive over and carry the poopy diapers and food leftovers everywhere and the "cleaning crew" doesn't do anything for DAYS! APARTMENT: seem nice when you tour, beware you'll find tons of issues that need repair, they'll promise repair before you move in, but they won't fullfill. I moved in with over 15 repairs needed, 5 months later I was still fighting to have even one addressed. Maintenance is always "busy" and take forever, yet you walk outside and they are all sitting in their gulf carts chatting or better yet, playing with little remote control cars! The tipping point: My AC leaked for 3 days, I called everyday, no 1 came for weeks. I sent photos begging for help as my son is HIGHLY allergic to mold; They ignored every attempt and 2 months later I had black contamination all over the walls and under baseboards. I had to threaten legal action and contact the Company's Manager in order to get attention in this matter. They argued and tried to get away with just a cleaning, but when the restoration came he confirmed my findings. Even though I showed ALL evidence to my allegations, they still ignored it until they couldn't anymore. At that point I was ready to file a suit to which they chose instead to release me from my lease. GOOD RIDDANCE! Neighbors: trash everywhere constantly, the hallways/staircases never cleaned so the smell was unbearable. Dogs poop everywhere and no one cleans up after them. My son stepped on poop 2x on our hallway. BEWARE!Property Manager Responded

Dishonest and worst society to live in
July 5, 2019Upton Apartments are dishonest and have least respect for their residents. There is no one in the apartment to take care of maintenance requests. Great customer service and nice place to live
January 12, 2019Happy to live here. Great customer service apartments beautiful. Amenities are amazing. Want to be sure to add this review because I have the best experience here. Karina showed me apartments and amenities nice service very polite person kudos for Her, thanks to that I made my decision to apply and here we are. My son loves this place. Missing the coffee that sometimes I can not find ( ask in the office already) only thing missing is that. Keep the good job guys I recommend this place to live ...safe environment gate community and great people at the office. Eduardo always help residents and in General maintenance request on time . No maintenance
November 20, 2018If something breaks, you're on your own. They take months to fix anything and usually do a bad job at it. The amenities look great, but you guessed it, they break often and take weeks to months to get fixed too. Some of the people in the front office are nice, but mostly they don't care at all. It’s a no for me !
July 23, 2018The first week I moved in, there was no hot water for 4 days. You have to call yourself(phone call)to get into the gate. They don’t give you a remote!!! You’d have to pay for it. There’s a fee for EVERYTHING! You have to pay to access the gym. For the price of rent, things shouldn’t be this difficult. Bait and Switch
August 31, 2017Upton Apartments by Maxxproperties sells you one thing and delivers something else. The model apartment is an example of good craftsmanship but the actual apartments that are leased are cleaned and refurbished by unskilled and unqualified workers. The management knows this and does not care. I had a punch list, that I the tenant had to create, 80 picture deep at move in. Everything from a moldy air-conditioner, which the mgmt claimed that "A/C's are dirty by nature" to painting without prepping ...and painting things closed, rust left everywhere, filth left everywhere and a non functional dryer. After weeks of trying to get my apartment close to the quality that was sold to me, we gave up and started doing the work ourselves. Do not be fooled by the common ground amenities, they will tell you it is a nice place to gather with friends or family, but once you move in you better not have more than 2 friends or 2 family members, or I guess 1 of each because 2 is all that you are allowed to have visit at a time. Today 8/31/2017 I was delivered a note from the management explaining that if I use the pool with and invite my mom, dad and sister over that I would be putting my lease in jeopardy.(So far I have not personally had the opportunity to use any of the common ground facilities yet since I work so much, this note about the limitations was delivered to all tenants in anticipation of Americas most popular day to gather with friends and family for a cook out or pool party. The American traditions of the up coming Labor day will not be allowed or celebrated at the Upton Apartments in Hollywood FL.) The management is lazy and ill-informed. I was attempting to get information from someone in the office on property and had to be transferred 3 times. The leasing agent that answered the phone had no idea what I was talking about when I asked for the info that their online payment system requires so she transferred me to the person that wrote my lease, he proceeded to tell me that I should be getting that info in the mail in a couple of days. I then asked if they wanted me to pay the rent or not? At that point they transferred me to a third person that was finally able to give me the info I required to use their proprietary online system to simply pay rent. June 6, 2017Terrible management, refuse to help residents with issues. Only care about putting money in their own pockets! ANT INFESTATION!! Clean every day but they will still be crawling all over your kitchen and bathroom counters, furniture and EVEN YOUR BED. Overall unpleasant experience. Bugs and awful office staff!
September 18, 2016At first it seemed like the ideal community but between the never ending ants, clubhouse that was suppose to be complete in January 2016, and rude office staff I had to leave once my lease was up. I wouldn't recommend anyone live there. The only nice office staff left and everyone else is rude and unhelpful regardless of the situation.Review from Apartments.com
