Great place to stay
November 10, 2022Couldn't say nicer things about this place. It's dog friendly with a cute dog park and it's a very walkable area. They didn't give me any problems about having 2 large dogs, as long as they were screened to ensure they weren't aggressive. The location is great, as it's close to many grocery stores (the Promenade, Target, convenience stores, liquor stores, and banks). I worked in Philly, and the commute from this area was not bad since it was close to rt 70. The grounds are always maintained well, ...and they have many trash cans made available throughout the area to make sure residents are also encouraged to throw out doggy poop bags, and other trash in the appropriate receptables, along with plenty of doggie depots with extra bags in case you forgot yours. There is regular grounds keeping, as appropriate to the season. The few times I've had to use maintenance they've always been very polite, prompt, and always got the problems fixed (The older gentleman with white hair is awesome!). Megan (works in the office) is super helpful, nice, polite, and prompt in returning phone calls. After moving out, I've accidently had packages arrive to the apartment and they would always reach out to me and hold onto the packages until I could pick them up. The residents that live there are also very friendly and courteous. There's plenty of parking spaces, and they also provide large dumpsters on a regular basis to help get rid of larger items upon moving. The only thing I would say is annoying (Which is a google maps issue, not an apartment issue) is when ordering food delivery, google maps always has people going to the complex across the road. The apartment number/ buildings are also not very obvious on the sides of the building, so it definitely helps to state which turn to go into off the main road. Overall, I was very happy with my stay here. Originally intended to stay only for 6 months while our house was being built, ended up staying for a little over a year due to construction issues, but was very comfortable during my stay (which says a lot with 2 large dogs, 2 adults, and a newborn). The apartment we stayed in had a great (huge) walk in closet and large bedroom, and an extra storage closet off the main hallway. Loved the fact the washer dryer was in unit and that there was a pretty large food pantry as well. Worth every penny staying here, would 100% recommend this place.Property Manager Responded

Expansive and old
August 18, 2022I would not recommend moving in there. The apartments are old, and my rent went up a few $100 last year. And when I moved out, they are the first landlords to ever charge me clean up fees in excess of $300. The management there leaves a lot to be desired. You can find a better place for the same price just look.Property Manager Responded

Nice apartment for the interim
June 11, 2019Villager at Barton Run apartments are great for the interim. This our third year here and we're moving out this week so I thought I'd write a review! I just want to preface this by saying I am in no way a disgruntled tenant (like some of the previous reviews lol), I just want to share both pros and cons. Pros: There is always ample parking spaces. We can have family over with no problem. The parking lot area is also well-lit so I've never had problems with feeling unsafe. The staff and ...maintenance are very nice. Whenever I need something looked at, Bill has always been here within a few hours to a day at the latest. Furthermore, as far as utilities, I think it's fairly reasonable. However, I'm not sure about the water as others have mentioned, but that does seem to be common in most apartment complexes (in Marlton). In terms of the apartment, it was freshly clean upon move-in. Cons: One issue, primarily the main issue as to why we decided to move, is our neighbors. We live above an older gentleman and we are a fairly young married couple. We're really quiet and respectful of him, particularly during the off hours of the day. However, he is constantly complaining about something everyday; things I have no control over. (I.e. dryer is too loud, leaves will drop in between the porch boards onto his porch, he even asks us to leave our apartment so he can do bug bombs which we're really uncomfortable with). And he is constantly ringing our doorbell a few times a day. Sometimes I just like to stay at my parents in order to avoid coming home to get 'yelled' at by something. Another issue is the smoke that comes in through adjacent apartments. And the last issues (again not necessarily related to management) is the lack of sunlight that comes into the apartment. I like with does and fresh air so the one sliding door doesn't offer much but I understand that's apartment living. Although we decided to move to another place with more amenities, I would definitely recommend this place during the interim! They have been good to us.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Please read the reviews.....
August 3, 2017Water bill is very high. But you never see the bill. There is no garbage disposal but you pay for sewer which anyone will tell you is 80% of your bill. Over $50 a month for a one bedroom/one bath/ one person....no disposal. Outrageous!! If I would have known, I would not have signed a lease. No amenities, no pool, no gym, no club house. Check the area most apartments in Marlton have at least some of these and the rent is lower then the Villages. If you want semi-new appliances your rent goes up ...per month. These apartments are how old? 50 years? They look it. New carpet and fresh paint can't hide that fact. Hope you never need maintenance.....the office does a lousy job communicating with them. Not a place to call home. You must be a dog lover, also. Which drew me here. However, I'm tired of people not picking up after their dogs. The poo stations are so gross all of the time. Trash depots are always filled with rotting furniture, mattresses and trash. Not necessarily the complex's fault but come on, do you want to live like that?Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Run as fast as you can away from this place
January 28, 2017The most nastiest office personnel.....water bill is crazy high for not having a disposal. ( the complex charges you, it has nothing to do with your usage) The smell of the doggie depots in the summer is disgusting. The trash thrown around the dumpsters is just plain gross....mattresses and furniture there decaying for months at a time. Maintenance is not 24 hours on site. Once my eclectic went out....called the office, took them 3 1/2 hours to get to me and then the maintenance guy could not ...find the breaker....he kept looking in the same cook closet and outdoor closet on my deck..... finally he called someone who told him where it was........seriously!!!! Run..............Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Thanks for the reviews
March 18, 2016I recently visited these apartments. When I asked about the concerns listed below, they danced around every question. I was mainly concerned about the maintenance of the buildings. I walked around this property and these are my findings: Landscaping seemed well done for this time of year. Residents still have Christmas decorations up. Parking seemed plentiful. Buildings need TLC. Lots of mold. Overflowing doggie depots. Overload of trash around dumpsters. My outside community is important ...to me. I decided to rent elsewhere. You decide. Think twice before moving here
March 1, 2016I just read the review below and agree 100%. The description is very misleading. There is no ceiling fans, garbage disposal, and as for the water/sewer bill "they" hit the nail on the head! Residents talk to one another and compare their bills, which are very inconsistent. 90% of residents own dogs and do not pick up after them. It's disgusting. The mold on the apartments is also disgusting. You can not sit out on your deck without staring at mold! Very unhealthy. As for the office personnel, I ...totally agree. Not very friendly.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Do your research or prepare to be scammed.
February 17, 2016First of all, what is written above is NOT accurate. High speed internet? They do not provide it, you need a subscription. Storage unit? Um, nope. Disposal? Nope! Ceiling fans? Nope! Breakfast nook? Seriously? It's a piece of plywood nailed to the half wall. Courtyard? Must have missed that. Smoke free? My next door neighbor smokes and it comes through the vents. Kitchen floor was not put in properly, has holes up against the cabinet...dirt trap! Stove must at least 15 years old! New cabinets? ...Nope, mine are as old as this property....40 years? Balcony...all splintered. Don't get me started on the water/sewer bill. They lie about how you are being billed. They claim that it is one bill divided by your apartment size and number of residents. I am one person in a 1 bedroom and I pay $54 a MONTH!!! My neighbors are 3 in a 2 bedroom and pay the same. Can you say scam!!!! Office staff used to be great until Friedman took over. Girls are nasty! Maintenance guys are great and do they best they can do with what they have to work with. Five star guarantee? Not here. Can't wait to get out!!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
This place is okay.
August 19, 2015First of all, rent for a two bedroom is not $1295. For me, it's 1385 a month and I'm expecting a rent hike very soon. I lived in a one bedroom apartment here until my neighbor shouted a racial slur at me and my 6 month old. They moved me to a two bedroom apartment. (This guy got an stern letter, which did nothing.) Wall color is basically almost bandaid-flesh-tone white, and don't be fooled by the sample apartment, the carpet is not berber. The only thing new about the appliances is the ...microwave. My washer, dishwasher, oven and fridge are 10 years old and on their way out, but management won't replace them. Also, there's a nail sticking up in the carpet just in front of doorway to my kitchen. My carpet is falling apart and dirty in most places. It's disgusting and there are pieces of it everywhere; I can't even keep up with it. The bathrooms are okay, but my hot and cold water is reversed and the grout work is not good; it's cracked and missing in places. Also, the popcorn ceilings are really dated, there's no overhead lighting aside from the kitchen and the dining room. The sliding glass door in the living room is the sole provider of light, so it's always really dark because the park setting and all the trees. Unless you live in the model with the den, you have the inconvenience of having a door to your utility closet SMACK DAB in your living room. Which is annoying since you have to move whatever you put in front of it for maintenance to get back there. Basically, this is a beer apartment and they're asking for champagne money. It's not worth 1385 or 1295. Maybe 1100, especially since they don't even have a pool. They have an overpriced, joke of a swim club in the back of the development.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
