Just a short distance to Halsted Street that has tons of restaurants, gas stations, clothing stores, nail salons, and more. Thornwood Apartments has an outdoor swimming pool that has monitors during the time that the pool is open. There is so much for the children to do after school to keep busy. So come on over and see all this for yourself. We have after school activities and a great monitor program. We also have different events held by the staff for different occasions. We consider everyone as one big family here at Thornwood Apartments. The saying "No Place Like Home" becomes true living here at Thornwood Apartments. April 14, 2020I had a very bad problem with mice this year. I never had a roach problem but definitely mice. And it took 4 months for the problem to be fixed. Nothing was done for the food I lost from all the mice we had. The kids are always in the hallways. These pictures are nice but not reality. Appliances out of date. Crime happens here all the time. Because the doors are unlocked. And not just petty crimes. Not sure how the 3.5 stars came about.Review from Apartments.com

August 14, 2019This is the absolute WORST PLACE YOU CAN LIVE!!!!! Management is terrible and doesn't care about the safety of the residents. No security. No police patrol. The doors aren't locked. The hallways are disgustingly nasty and stink!! The Kids are OUT OF CONTROL.They run through the hallways banging on doors, at night kids throw rocks at windows and bang on them as well. Even if you report these things to management SHE DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT!!! This is a horrific place to live. Save your ...money and your peace! August 14, 2019This is the worst place ever to live. The management is clueless or just don’t care what goes on at this property. All the doors are always unlocked , kids run around like animals. No good
August 20, 2017Mold is very bad in both buildings. Also don't let anyone tell you that it's caused by heat and moisture. Mold is caused by water leaks inside the walls or leaking pipes inside or near the walls. And also bleach and water will not take care of the problem. Tearing down and replacing the walls is the only solution. When it comes to the roaches I believe the tenants have them as pets or something cause it's just way too many of them. Mold is harmful to you if have allergies or asthma. It also ...irritates your skin, eyes, throat, and lungs. It's not good for anyone but its especially harmful to babies and the elderly. August 14, 2015the building is pretty well maintained it is near the bus route, stores, restaurants. it has a pool in the back, a place where you can bbq and a play area for the children. i just don't like the fact we have to pay $5.00 for any lights we get now except 1Review from Apartments.com
