Renters Reviews and Ratings
Very peaceful and clean environment
November 30, 2023 - Review from Apartments.comI’ve been staying at Union Hills apartment complex for a little under a year. The staff is great, highly accommodating for any issues or events that might come up. I’ve been pleased with the tenets and other fellow neighbors that stay within the complex. I have access to the stores via foot or car. I would recommend if you are looking for a nice quiet and peaceful environment.
So grateful
April 29, 2021 - Review from Apartments.comThey absolutely made my first time as a single mother living alone AMAZING! I can’t thank everyone enough! It’s an older complex so nothing is perfect, but the ones I worked with Joan, Jacqueline, and the maintenance man “D” listened!
Misrepresentation
February 17, 2021 - Review from Apartments.comBe careful of the condition of the apartment that your holding fee is holding. Thank goodness I found out before I made the move from out of state. Rating them one star due to misrepresentation and not refunding my holding fee. They still had 6 weeks to rent the apartment!!
High Price, Small Space
November 16, 2017 - Review from Apartments.comMy experience with Union Hills Estates began in February of 2016, I filled out an application for the rental of a 1x1 and was approved. Working with Joan was simple and I was quickly approved, one nice thing about this complex is their deposit structure. Rather than having me pay a huge deposit, I was able to apply for something called a ‘Sure Deposit’, this was a fraction of the cost. Upon obtaining my keys, I went and viewed my unit, right when I walked in I noticed small bugs all over the ...windowsill and in the kitchen, I promptly emailed the business manager, Jackie, and advised her of the issue. When she responded, I was told that their pest control company already sprayed and there was not much more they could do. This was totally unacceptable to me because, once I was able to further inspect the unit, I realized there was a serious issue with these bugs (I later learned they were German Roaches). It was so bad that I had to hire my own extermination company to come out and treat the unit before I could any of my things in (or risk the roaches infesting my belongings). I paid for this out of pocket since the management team was sure there was nothing more they were able to do to help me (They do offer courtesy pest control weekly via Bern’s). Once this was taken care of, there were no other issues with bugs, however; right before I was moving out (October 2017) the pest control team advised there were issues with rats on the roof and possibly in the walls of my building (EW!). I would often hear them on the roof (Second floor unit) but I always figured it was cats. The complex is mostly quiet, there are some residents who have no regard for their neighbors and blast their music or throw crazy parties but management is normally pretty quick to shut that down. The only other major complaint I have about Union Hills Estates is their parking, it is so backwards. I had to park three buildings away from my apartment, while the unit next to mine had a spot right next to our building. In addition to their awful parking, there is only 1 gate in or out of the complex and the roads through the complex only fit one car going either way. So, navigating the complex can be frustrating. Jackie (the business manager) has always been super helpful, and It is unfortunate that I had to move… the rent was pretty high for me for the space that I had. There are other complexes that offer bigger units for the same price in the area.Read More
WORST PLACE EVER
September 17, 2017 - Review from Apartments.comThis was by far the worst place i have ever lived, please do yourself a favor and find something better. Terriblr parking, roaches, paper thin walls, management is a JOKE. Seriously dont waste your money or your time on this dump. If zero stars was an option that's exactly what this place would have gotten and thats what it deserves
Avoid this property.
August 16, 2016 - Review from Apartments.comI will just keep it short and sweet: Avoid this property at all costs. Office staff is friendly and is "doing their best" in a bad situation. Grounds are often trashed, apartments are poorly maintained.
Not horrible
September 10, 2015 - Review from Apartments.comNot bad. Some things didn't work but not due to lack of maintenance workers. They accommodated me well by holding packages in office, but didn't call me to say they were there. And seldom returned my voice mail. It's only for my on personal reasons that I need to leave.
good sized affordable apartment for a good price
September 9, 2015 - Review from Apartments.comThis apartment complex is great for the price I rented it at. It has woods floors and none of my appliances have conked out on me in the year I've been here. I did have a few bumps with my AC breaking in the summer and my roof leaking but both of those problems were fixed for me within 24 hours. I'd say this is a nice starter complex for someone moving out on their own for the first time. I've never had a problem with anyone breaking into my car either. $700 a month for two bedrooms is a price ...that's hard to beat.Read More
Ok
August 23, 2015 - Review from Apartments.comIt's ok but too expensive. Too many car break-ins.
Has its perks.
July 22, 2015 - Review from Apartments.comFor the most part my apartment is fantastic. First floor, good size, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, washer, dryer, dishwasher in unit. Red accent wall. Intimate patio overlooking Union Hills. The only two things I don't like are that the dryer takes longer than usual to dry normal loads, and I am right next to a gate that doesn't work. Granted it is a fire gate, but having to drive all the way around to get in and out gets old fast.
