Bed bugs
June 7, 2026 - Review from Apartments.comIf I could give zero stars, I would. My family moved into this community expecting a safe and habitable home. Instead, we discovered bed bugs almost immediately after moving in. We reported the issue right away and fully cooperated with every instruction given to us. Despite doing everything requested, the infestation eventually made its way into our bed and sleeping areas, causing sleepless nights, anxiety, stress, and significant disruption to our family’s daily life. What made this ...experience even more frustrating was the constant changing of options and expectations. Various solutions were discussed, including transfer options and lease termination. We were asked to make major decisions under extremely short timelines while trying to protect our belongings and find alternative housing. After uprooting our lives and meeting every deadline that was given to us, we were later presented with additional paperwork and conditions that had never previously been discussed. Throughout this process, we documented everything. Photos, videos, communications, pest control visits, and conversations were all preserved because of how serious this situation became. As tenants, we did exactly what we were supposed to do: report the issue immediately, cooperate fully, and act in good faith. The most disappointing part is that this entire situation could have been handled with far more transparency, consistency, and compassion. No family should have to move into a new home only to spend their first days dealing with an infestation, worrying about their child, protecting their belongings, and scrambling to figure out where they are going to live next. The property itself may be beautiful, but a beautiful property means very little when residents are left feeling unsupported during one of the most stressful situations they can experience. Prospective tenants should do their research, ask detailed questions, and make sure they fully understand how issues like this are handled before signing a lease. If I Could Give Negative Stars, I Would
May 28, 2026 - Review from Apartments.comI moved into Clubhouse Ln on the third floor in July of 2025. I knew it was going to horrible after they changed my apartment, two days before I was supposed to move in, I wish I never gave them my money. I had movers scheduled, washer and dryer delivery ready, and they said the apartment I signed a lease for was inhibitable due to the FOUNDATION being cracked. When I looked at the apartment I am currently in, it was so hot. They stated it was because they were cleaning, turns out, the AC system ...is so old, it cannot keep up with the space. I have been fighting with Villages since moving in about this. Be prepared for service request to be ignored, issues to never resolved, and insane water and duke bills (over $80 a month for a two bedroom apartment for water). Extremely Frustrating Move-In Experience and Unacceptable Apartment Condition
May 6, 2026 - Review from Apartments.comOur move-in process was frustrating from start to finish. We were sent multiple leases, the rent numbers kept changing, our unit changed, and the move-in date was scheduled for a day the office was closed. That was only corrected because we reached back out to double-check, which caused another lease change. We also had major issues getting Duke Energy set up. Duke said the address was not listed as a service address and told us the property needed to contact them. It took multiple emails before ...the leasing agent reached out to Duke, and the issue still was not resolved until after our scheduled move-in date. The welcome letter also had the incorrect security deposit listed. The worst part was the condition of the apartment when we received the keys. We asked if it had been inspected before move-in and were told yes, and that maintenance had been in the unit the day before. Once inside, it was clear the apartment had not been properly cleaned or inspected. The unit was dirty, had door and floor damage, dead bugs, laundry doors that would not shut and blocked some of the hallway, a dirty towel left in a bathroom, pulled-up carpet, and a space heater left inside. We were also told the unit had been vacant since November, which made the condition even more concerning. These were only the issues we noticed immediately during our first walk-through, which made us concerned about what else was overlooked. When we showed photos, we were told they would put in a maintenance ticket for Monday morning after our Saturday move-in. We came back Monday around noon and nothing had been done. They were still dealing with Duke about the power issue, and we were told they had lost the maintenance key and could not enter the apartment until we came back and gave them our keys. We spoke with the manager, who said they were doing their best, but the apartment issues likely would not be fixed until closer to the end of the week. We were told our options were basically to wait or move into a much more expensive unit. We requested a refund and found a different property because we no longer felt comfortable moving forward. To their credit, they did issue the refund, but the experience leading up to that point was unacceptable. Between the lease issues, incorrect information, power problems, poor communication, and the condition of the apartment, this was one of the worst rental experiences I have had. Lied, charged the wrong rent, wont fix the issues in my unit
March 29, 2026 - Review from Apartments.comMultiple issues, terrible service. First, we were told upon moving in a rental washer and driver could be provided for our hookups, The office told us they were not available and would not email us or call us back to answer when one would become available. Our community laundry room has been out of order for nearly 6 months. Second, we’ve sent in multiple work orders to fix our floors, water leaks in the apartment and AC/ Heater issues, the work orders were marked complete and nothing was ...actually fixed. Third we were charged double rent and a worker informed us this would be fixed in the system before we left for vacation, this never occurred and we returned to an eviction notice on our door signed by the person who was supposed to fix it, she never corrected our rent and her attempt to do so still showed the wrong rent listed (wrong rent has been listed multiple times). You will never be able to reach someone in the office when needed, the AI bot will answer and nothing will happen. September 9, 2022 - Review from Apartments.comwhere do i start. roads are full of potholes, hallways are dirty, units are overpriced and falling apart, management is rude, slow to respond and unhelpful, neighbors blast music 24/7 and so on. maintenance is slow and didn't properly fix our ac despite multiple visits which led to giant energy costs for us. washer dryer units didn't work reliably for the TWO YEARS we were here. when we finally moved out they hit us with unreasonable and massive bills for "excessive cleaning" and dry wall repair ...when just one look at the walls will tell you they've never once fixed the walls and just paint over them. they rip you off every chance they get and expect immediate responses when they drag their feet with everything. it took a week and multiple phone calls, emails, and in person visit to just get a document for adding to another person to the lease. on top of all of that there was severe water damage that led to fungal growth in our bedroom! mushrooms were growing and they seemed utterly uninterested. i see other reviews that mentioned finding mold so don't just take my word for it. move back in with your parents, crash on your friends couch, sleep in your car do anything but move hereRead MoreProperty Manager Responded

Lovely place, poor upkeep sometimes

However, the communal washing machines have not worked in a year and the streetlights have been flashing for 7 months. The area is lovely and safe and it's relatively quiet. November 8, 2021 - Review from Apartments.comI lived in this place for 16 months, before moving I read several bad reviews and only now did I understand them; Basically the place is good to live if and only if you do not need to go to the administration to ask for help with something, there you see the bad service and mediocrity. 1ro the air was broken and they made three visits to the office a week later They arranged it for me; 2nd Infestation of bedbugs "" disgusting they only went to fumigate once, I particularly never in my life had ...seen those bugs the following month until I managed to move I fumigated daily I lived a hell because the origin of the plague was not my house so they came and they came, in addition to the toxicity of the poison that was everywhere ... it was traumatic (not to mention that I had to throw away all my furniture, with the expense that that implies) 3rd the deposit as I delivered the apartment in perfect condition after moving Even today 8/11/21 they do not give it to me and I moved from 8/24/21. Maintenance issues ignored and needing to spend extra $ to supplement lack of attention to issues
July 6, 2021 - Review from Apartments.comMy boyfriend are currently living here with our children. We have been here since March and have had nothing but problems. Noisy, messy, discourteous neighbors; Broken AC that takes multiple complaints and weeks to get fixed in 90 degree weather; malfunctioning payment portal that shows that we paid on time yet charges us a late fee. If you put in a work order or send an email, you have to jump through hoops to “prove” there is really a problem. We have had to spend money on fans and an extremely ...high electric bills due to the broke. AC constantly running but never outputting cold air. When bringing this to their attention we were asked to provide months worth of bills but never heard anything back. If you move in here, be prepared to have your neighbors throw trash off of their balcony in front of your living room windows. That is apparently acceptable behavior here.
