There is a rusty hole at the top of my microwave oven; I had to buy a portable one because management haven't fixed it. My dishwasher has never worked. The light stays on in the oven. There is a big hole in the washer/dryer door, and no rod in the bedroom closet. Also, management tells me that they are out of keys for the gym. The trash area hidden behind a huge grassy wall is overflowing with filth.

"Since last year, the maintenance service has been delayed, and we have faced many problems related to rent payments and access to the pool, as it often has issues. Our apartment also has a lot of roaches, and although we have requested pest control many times, we don’t think it has worked.

Updated Review – June 2025 ( 1 star from 2024) I've been living at West Wind for almost 3 years, and I have to say, the current management team (in place since January 2025) is the best we've had so far ( thanks Leasly). West Wind could be a very nice place to live. The location is great, the facilities and amenities are solid, and the renovated apartments are a good value—if AND JUST IF the property is managed by a competent team that respects and values its residents. Unfortunately, we ...
still see tenants moving here in the last year that should care more. There continue to be issues with noise after 10:00 PM, trash and dog waste left everywhere around the grounds, the car vacuuming is always broken, and the dumpster area often looks like a disaster. These problems reflect a lack of consideration by some residents, and stricter enforcement of community standards is definitely needed. I’m hopeful that this new management team continues making real improvements. Time will tell.

I really enjoy the neighborhood vibe and courtesy I have experienced with the office staff and maintenance staff. My dog gets so excited when he sees “Mr. Chuck”, our head of maintenance, who is always so kind and goes above and beyond. It feels like a community who genuinely cares about each other , a refreshing contrast to complexes I’ve previously lived at in the Charleston area.
