July 22, 2024Terrible apartments with old appliances, will never replace them leaving you without things like a washer for weeks. Money hungry complex that prays on college students despite the area not being safe and college student friendly. Amenities are rarely available and the gym is disgusting. People are loud and litter everywhere, even staff has littered in our empty trash can. 0 stars, please safe your self the stress and don’t move here.Review from Apartments.com

DON'T MOVE HERE!!
April 14, 2018This place is a scam. They lure you in with all utilities are included in your rent but in reality you're paying about $650 to $700 (depending on what bedroom layout your living in) just due to your overage bill that is always high. When you go to them and ask about it they cannot give you a breakdown of why the bill is high when you have to do the run around with Duke and you still don't get anything accomplished. When it comes to roommates they try to do a roommate match but that doesn't work. ...They don't care about the well being of their residents all they want is your money. They are helpful in the beginning but after you've signed your lease and moved in they are rude, and very inconsiderate it's as if they're giving you the cold shoulder. They only handle things that is beneficial for them and when I say that I mean by getting you to pull more money out of your pocket. They try from every angle to get money from you any way possible. Everything in this apartment breaks and the way they have it set up you cannot fix something on your own and you have to call maintenance to come and fix it and there is always a charge. The apartments are not as clean nor kept well when you move in. The apartments don't look nothing as good as the model they show you. March 12, 2017They suck you in because the places are pretty, but maintenance sucks, the leasing office couldn't care less about dealing with problems created by the shoddily built Cottages, and it's dangerous and loud. January 10, 2017This is my first year living here (2016-2017) and I wouldn't tell anyone to live here. This is a student apartment and you can tell by the way the treat you. Sterling Cottages
November 30, 2016The units of Sterling are quite wonderful. I've only had an issue with the dryer (which they kept telling us was fine until they realized there was something wrong with the roof vent that was not letting air circulate for the dryer) which still hasn't been fixed after multiple maintenance request. The management has been unsatisfactory. There was a drive-by shooting(a lot of parties were going on and their security team thats supposed to be out on Saturday nights wasn't there) and there wasn't an ...email sent out about it at all. Reminder of their party policy was sent out but truly haven't seen any up in security like they said they would. My car was also shot in the drive-by (twice) and they didn't do anything or try to compensate. The bus is about as inconsistent as it gets. Its been down for three days straight now with no real update on what is going on. This isn't the first time the bus has been down. Also the whole "eco-friendly" thing is just a way they can make more money. Sterling Cottages is so eco friendly that they don't have recycling. Overall the facilities are great but there isn't great communication from the management and considering the price for the place and the distance from UNCG and A&T, there are a lot of flaws in living here.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Love this Place!
February 4, 20162015-2016 is my second year living in Sterling Cottages. My first year living here I stayed in the four bedroom flat and I had an awesome experience. Electricity overages were normal. ($0.50 to $1.95) And when our washer machine was causing us to go over tremendously, the issue was resolved. I love the staff here at Sterling, very friendly. Maintenance always complete request in a timely manner. I now stay in a 2 bedroom stand alone and I have had a great experience. I have a baby boy so finding ...a roommate that was okay with that was going to be super hard BUT I was matched with the PERFECT roommate. The only reason why I am not renewing for a third year is because I want to live on my own with my child. Not only is this the best looking student housing, you get way more than what you pay for. As far as parking goes, I always find a parking space near my house and if I can't, I call the towing company that Sterling provides the number for because it's usually someone there that doesn't have a parking pass. Parking for friends is provided in front of the office and on each side of the complex. If there were more visitor parking, then residents wouldn't have anywhere to park. Spring Place
August 14, 2015This is a perfect location for undergraduate college students. Nearby campuses, nice restaurants, and major stores. The staff here, are very friendly and helpful. There is plenty of spaces for visitor parking and guests. Spacious kitchen, bathrooms, and closets. Beautiful pool area and nice basketball courts for athletes.
