  • Horrible experience and horrible apartment

    I was drawn to this apartment complex because of the price, the in-apartment washer and dryer, and the open space and granite counters. Once I started living here, I started to hate the place. The washer and dryer that drew me into the apartment worked well enough. The dryer would vent through a plastic container that needed to be filled with water every so often. It was definitely not connected to any exterior part of the building. When the dryer was on, the apartment would then be very HOT, and ...
    moisture would fill the apartment, causing MOLD. The mold gets EVERYWHERE. The smell of mold on your clothes, on your walls, on your blankets and furniture. The vent over the oven did not work well, the fire alarm is always going off when simply frying eggs. The vent in the bathroom did not work great. The appliance in this apartment worked well enough to get you by, but not bad enough to be replaced. Be aware of what you're getting into. The review "Unclean, Unhealthy, just plain terrible" hit the nail on the head. Please beware

While it is true that the building is not set up for the machines to vent to the outside, the venting box when filled with water will work properly. We take any concerns regarding the functionality of your appliances or other maintenance needs seriously.   • Unclean, unhealthy, just plain terrible!

    First I will say that the bedrooms are a nice size and the walk in closets are also a nice size and the property itself is pretty nice. My young child loves to walk around the property, by the stream behind the buildings, but honestly, that is where it ends for me. 1) When I moved in the carpets were never replaced, they are old and gross and there are stains from the previous tenant (not a huge deal, but I have a young child, so smoky carpets are a big no). Also I am not a smoker, but I am ...
    constantly smelling smoke from my neighbor who smokes in his apartment. 2) walls are THIN! My neighbors are constantly fighting and you can hear them Very clearly. You can hear them flushing their toilet or coughing in the bathroom. and you can hear them pulling out the chairs on the tile floor. I should not be able to tell you what my neighbors do all day, because I shouldn't be able to hear them that clearly! 3) the dryer vents Into a water bucket in the apartment. This causes the apartment to become very hot and very wet! Opening the window to let the hot/humid air out is not fun in the heat of the summer when you only have one Air conditioning unit in the entire apartment. And in the winter when it is snowing and the temperature is below 0 with the wind chill (thank god they pay heat). When you do open the window to let air in the apartment, the blinds get wet and start to stick together. This moisture causes mold! 4) I am constantly cleaning mold! The a/c unit always has mold on it! I also recently found mold growing on the windowsill and the wall below my bedroom window. I assume this is caused by all of the humidity in the apartment? (I will note that I am living on the first floor which is slightly below ground level) 5) the bathtub is disgusting! It is stained and almost looks like it is rotting near the drain. I refuse to take a bath or let my son bathe in this tub! I can't even plug the tub because the switch doesn't work, and when maintenance came to fix it, they just took the switch out so it never got fixed.! This apartment is not worth anything close to what they charge (and the price of rent just went up!). 6) in the summer, when it is hot outside, and you decide to open the windows to do laundry, little tiny bugs will invade your apartment all over the wall. And somehow, you will have mosquitos inside in the winter (I believe these came out of the AC unit) STAY AWAY FROM WESTERN HILLS APARTMENTS!

    Comfortable and spacious apartment. Creek wraps around the back yard. Within 1 mile from the middle school, high school and popular shopping centers. Excellent maintence, snow removal and cleaning services. Newly renovated, new appliances, new carpeting. Air conditioned.

    I Lovee my apartment, I’ve been living here over a year now and It’s seriously my happy place there’s a creek that runs through the back yard and at night you can hear it when you open the windows, it so soothing it’s pretty peaceful for the most part my only complaint is snow removal they could so a better job at it I eventually had to purchase a shovel to get my car out of the parking spot also if there were assigned parking that would be amazing!
