Not the greatest place to live
September 18, 2019This is an honest review, not some angry tenant that feels he needs to retaliate. I'll list all the problems and you decide or not to listen to them. 1. NO HEAT IF THE OUTSIDE TEMP. RISES ABOVE 51 DEGREES. The apartment building turns the heat off at 52 degrees. The windows do nothing to prevent the cold from entering. You can see the cheap shades move with every wind gust 2. Not all the windows open 3. The parking is atrocious. It's a free for all with all the tenants. They have more ...apartments than parking spaces. If u park in the street u'll get towed or fined $300.00. Tenants hit ur car, no guest parking, snow removal is a joke. 4. Ventilation system blowing thru the building. The system is very old and filled with black dust. It coats evythg in the apart. U will notice it clearly on white surfaces. They offer to clean about 6" into the vent for free but if u want further then u have to pay $3 - $500 o/o/p to clean their pipes! Unhealthy 5. MANY ppl have complained about the supers attitudes. Mgmt talks to them when u complain but u can't fix mean. U may think this is due to individual cases but it's not. Complain about something and u'll see what the response will be 6. The day I moved in the super Sal tells me "Don't complain about the refrig! Nothing wrong with it. Just don't touch the knobs." It really doesn't work. The door is missing a bushing which allows u to slide the freezer door up/down. This does not allow for proper sealing thus icicles inside the f/f freezer and anything on the door softens 7. Water stains on ceiling from drainage tube leaking 8. Flies enter the apts during the winter months thru the vents. 9. They only have a water softener for the hot water. This protects their investments (d.w. and furnace). Dont drink or use the cold water. There is so much lyme. 10. There are no temp controls. It's either Hot or Cold. U have to get up and regulate it by turning it on/off 11. They say free heat but if u don't turn on the electricity u will not have a heater. It's not free. 12. They are always having water issues thus no water for hours. 13. Absolutely zero security. Packages stolen often and easy access to the building any time of day. The apartments are big and somewhat quiet. But u will find that after time this is not an ideal place to live and definitely not a long term living situation. Westover House
August 23, 2015I must say for mine and now my husbands first place out on our own in the real world this place was the perfect spot. For the area that we live in and the price that we pay we could not ask for anything better. It is close to public transportation, we are right on the ave so everything is in walking distance. Whenever we have an issue with the apartment, maintenance is quick to respond. Very spacious, comfortable living, nice neighborhood. The thing that I love most about this place is after a ...long day of work, I can come home to a nice cold apartment in the summer time or a nice heated apartment in the winter time because it is central AC & Heat. Also, you never have to worry about power outage because the generator will kick on right away!
