Terrible place to live!
August 19, 2020The buildings are extremely cheaply constructed. There are huge gaps round the doors and windows. This means you are spending a lot of money trying to heat or cool the place. It also means the apartments are very noisy. This is not good as a lot of loud yuppie types live here and have loud conversations with their front doors open. Complex is supposed to be smoke free yet people walk around smoking and vaping. The non smoking policy is not enforced. Allocated parking spaces are tiny. Only takes ...one selfish parker to ensure everyone else has a hard time trying to fit in their allocated space. The only good things the complex have going for it is the proximity to the UTC mall , just across the road and the management staff. Staff are always courteous, smiling and helpful. Worst Move Out Experience
August 22, 2017The apartment's and Irvine company's finance office aims to gauge you. There is no lenience upon move out. Be prepared for multiple, poorly organized, "final" move out statements. We received three successive bills charging more each time. The misaligned on site billing and Irvine company's billing provide conflicting information. July 6, 2016NEWLY REMODELED GARDEN-STYLE LIVING IN LA JOLLA dont be fooled by newly remodeled! We didnt see the unit prior to moving in since we came from another state. The bathtub looks terrible,dirty and old. when we brought it to management attention they said it was just redone....if its redone why does it look this bad? they also never redid the carpet, it has red stains near our bathroom. The unit smells funny and they blame the paint. They tell you its the perfume or odor neutralizer and thats why ...it smells and they dont do anything about it. They tell you to pay online and when you do the come bothering you and tell you that you never paid since they cant figure out where the money went. walls and floors are thin, the lady above us is tiny and i can hear her walk around. August 5, 2015We moved from one of the old units to one of the remodeled ones and it is great. All units are being renovated. Great location, great floor plans, and very quiet. The units are air conditioned (uncommon for this area). the complex is pet friendly (we are getting a dog park), and the maintenance crew are top notch. Renovation, inside and out
July 21, 2015Walking distance to UTC Mall, stores of all sizes, shapes, and types. Convenient to numerous parks, green areas, freeways going north, south, east...but NOT west! La Jolla, dont'cha know, is on La Water! Just moved in a few weeks ago, and the complex has proven quiet, comfortable, and convenient. A comfortable 1 bedroom apartment, mine is on the second floor. Oh, my, why did I think I could move all this furniture up here on my own Appliances, carpet, flooring, cabinets, shower, almost ...everything is new and super clean. Maintenance ignores you, 24 hour emergency hotline is a dead-end answering machine
April 29, 2013I have no hot water. I went through the proper channels to make an appointment. Appointment time comes, no maintenance worker. I go to the office only to discover they are gone for the day, at least an hour before the posted closing time. I call the 24 hour emergency hotline; no one answers. I left two messages four hours apart and have yet to hear ANYTHING. This property was just bought out by Irvine Company Apartment Communities, and they have made the WORST POSSIBLE first impression.Review from Apartments.com
Worst customer service
July 1, 2013I was forced to stay an extra month because none of the employees mentioned that there was a official form I need to fill in a month before I moved out. I went to the leasing office twice over a month earlier than my moving out date, telling them my moving plan. They did not bother explaining the procedure. However, they did remember to write me several emails and ask for the rent after I moved out. And according to them, I was the one who did not ask them about the form. I only received letters ...saying that I need written notes.
