Terrible Management Worse Building
February 23, 2026Looking for a place to live downtown? Well, do yourself a favor and steer clear of the Wilkins Building at 713 Walnut Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50309. To truly encapsulate the sheer incompetence of the management here would take a book. Would you like to experience the thrill of receiving a late payment notice, even after you’ve already paid your rent on time? Or how about having to host strangers in your apartment with 24 hour notice? Maybe you'd like to see your mail arrive drenched in ...water—just a glimpse of the “charm” you'll get at the Wilkins Building, courtesy of Knapp Properties! If you enjoy living in an environment where your most basic expectations are not only unmet but actively undermined, this might be the place for you.
