If you are looking for an apartment in the Windermere area, consider other communities before choosing Windermere at Lakes Edge. There are better options nearby.
We lived there twice: first in 2020, during the pandemic, when the community was well maintained, safe, and professionally managed; and again in 2023, after returning to the Windermere/Ocoee area because of that positive experience. At the time, it was still under the same management team.

significantly after new management took over about a year and a half ago. Security became a serious concern, with repeated vehicle break-ins and smashed windows. Police reported that more than 30 cars were affected in one night. We saw no effective camera system, and the office was largely unresponsive.
Maintenance also declined. The team appeared severely understaffed, and basic issues often took days to address or were never resolved. We experienced a broken air conditioner, water leaks, malfunctioning appliances, and missing packages. Gym equipment was frequently broken and poorly maintained despite repeated reports.
We moved out when our lease ended after numerous unresolved requests. Our refrigerator freezer had not worked properly for nearly four months, and even a simple light replacement was ignored.
Before moving out, we documented the apartment’s condition, including the carpet, which was in good condition with normal wear. It was already old when we moved in and had only been cleaned. Despite this, we were charged for carpet replacement and blinds. We disputed the charges and requested a review under Florida law, but the amount was immediately sent to collections.
This review reflects our firsthand experience. We gave the community a second chance, but the current management was a major disappointment. Before signing a lease, compare it with other options in the area.
