Atlantan apartment-ites are a classy bunch, and so when they go out on the town, they want only the best and most upscale for their eating needs. Though there are numerous spots around town that they could potentially stop in and eat, why not go to a place that just oozes class from its very pores. ONE Midtown Kitchen combines stylish, but understated ambiance with some of the best American cuisine in town to create one of the best culinary adventures available. Walking into ONE, I dare you not to be amazed by what you see. From the wide-screen TVs in the lounge to 30-foot wine wall, to the 80-foot counter, the place buzzes with style, class and an indescribable frenetic energy. The crowd is always lively, and the drinks always flow freely, and if it wasn't for the delicious food being served, you might wonder if you wandered into one of the hip bars or clubs around town. Executive Chef Tom Harvey will soon put those thoughts to rest, however, as you take a seat and bite into some of Atlanta's best cuisine. Harvey and his crew are always serving up something delicious, and the menu has grown over the years into a thing of beauty. Most famous are the calamari fries, served with spicy mustard and a special sweet-and-sour sauce, one of the few items they've kept over the years through the restaurant's many changes. They also have a number of other great dishes, from pizzas, to poultry, to fish, so there's not likely to be a flavor you won't find. Though the larger dishes are fine, what the restaurant specializes in are its "small plates," small dishes that are light and perfect for going alongside one of their delicious wines, or their signature ONE martini. For wine fans, there are few better places to fulfill your needs. The 30-foot wine wall is a testament to just what a varied selection of wines are available at your fingertips at this classy joint. With 75-bottles carefully chosen by wine guru Todd Rushing, you're not likely to find yourself without any options. They have options for normal bottle or glass, but for those real wine conniseurs, be sure to try out their "endless wine glass," where you play one price, and get your choice of wine throughout the night, as long as they remain within the same "wine tier." ONE Midtown Kitchen is more than just a great places to eat, it's one of the classiest joints in all of Atlanta. Stylish Atlanta apartment-ites who want to strut their stuff, while also eating a delicious meal cooked by some of the best hands in town, owe it to themselves to give this place a try.
