With so many options open to Austin apartment-ites, there's no limit to the amount of things you can do, so the choice of what bar to go to is an important choice for any lover of nightlife. If your indecision is getting you down, not sure if you want the elegance of a pub, the excitement of a live music venue, or the grungy salt-of-the-earth feel of a bar, but give Sherlock's Baker Street Pub a try, a strange and fantastic mix of all three combined. Sherlock is at its heart a pub, so beer selection of major importance. If you don't have a wide selection of British beer, after all, you have right calling yourself a pub at all. Sherlock's needn't worry, however, because they deliver on their title with grace and pride. Whether you want some Guinness or Bass, or Bud and Shiner, they're likely to have exactly what you want. It also has some great drink specials, including six dollar pints and dollar-seventy-five pub draughts, and the longest happy hour in the Austin area, from 2pm-9pm weekdays and all day Sunday. Also, make sure to check out their buffet on Wednesday to Friday before 8pm. Another important factor in a pub is the atmosphere, and Sherlock's permeates with a traditional pub scene mixed with your average bar, mixed in with a little live music venue. With such styles going at it together, you'd expect a bit of schizophrenia, but somehow they make it work. Upstairs, the pub is filled with English road signs, plush leather chairs and booths, but it's also filled with plenty of pool tables, dart boards, and even a foozball table. Most days of the week, the place also features live music, which is sure to keep the audience pumped. If you want a venue that provides everything, from a great drink, to live music, to a fantastic ambiance, then Sherlock's Bakers Street Pub is right up your alley.
