The Arlington Antebellum Home is the only antebellum home in all of Birmingham, and is even older than Birmingham itself, dating back to 1845. It once belonged to a famous judge in the town, Judge William S. Mudd, who later when one to become one of the ten founders of Birmingham. It features a number of gorgeous antiques the likes of which you can't find anywhere else in town, including a nice collection of 19th century furniture, silver, textiles, and paintings, as well as numerous other pieces of interest. There's no end to the historical significance that the house represents, and taking a step up those large, marble steps in like stepping back into the past. In addition to the beauty and historical significance of the grounds, Birmingham apartment-ites may also be able to rent certain parts of the house out for certain events.
