A true, authentic Irish pub only comes around once in blue moon, and many places calling themselves Irish pubs are really simple watering holes with some shamrocks scattered about, but Birmingham apartment-ites are lucky to have one of the true blue in their very own city. Innisfree Pub takes its name from the classic poem by William Butler Yeats, one of the most acclaimed Irish poets in history, so you know going in that the heart of this beer hole is still firmly in the Emerald Isle. Don't let the old-timey feel distract you, though, there's still fantastic live music, fun karaoke nights, and even trivia nights for those wanting to enjoy a more modern feel with the Irish atmosphere of the place. Innisfree is a strange combination of an old-style Irish pub, a dance club and a college bar, bringing in a large number of young Birmingham apartment-ites every night who want to get down with their bad selves and enjoy a good pint of bitters. Though they have a number of real English, Irish and Scottish beer, as well as beers from many other European countries, they also have American favorites such as Budweiser, Miller and Coors. They also have excellent drink specials just about every night, so if you're itching for a cheap beer, this is your spot to hit up. Get three dollar pitchers every Tuesday night, no cover on music on Wednesday night, and Ladies Night every Thursday, where ladies don't have to pay cover and get deals on drinks for the night. For those looking to dance their butts off, show up Friday or Saturday when their special DJs take the stage and light up the dance floor, with plenty of gorgeous young Southern Belles and Gentleman burning up the floor. Innisfree may embrace the modern times, with DJs and live music, but it still stays in touch with its Irish roots, with friendly greetings to everyone that makes their way to through the door, and a strong Irish pint waiting for any Birmingham apartment-ites that might grace the location with their presence.
