The newspaper room offers periodicals from around the US and the world. Two delectable eateries, the Novel restaurant serving a lunch buffet and afternoon tea, and Sebastian's Map Room Cafe serving breakfast and lunch, grace the ground floor as you pass by a courtyard. Then, as you progress, you'll go through the new books of non-fiction section as well as new fiction and existing novels, plus the children's book area. There's also a Boston Room full of Boston history. World languages, social sciences, fine arts, music and rare books, as well as general adult non-fiction can be found on the upper floors, while conference rooms and a career access center are found in the lower level. Hours are Monday-Thursday, 9 am to 9 pm, Friday and Saturday 9 am to 5 pm, and Sunday, 1 -5 pm. To completely absorb all the library has to offer, take a walking tour of the McKim Building, a free one hour tour describing all the amenities of this splendid Boston institution.
