If it's a lovely day and you feel like venturing outside your apartment for a nice tall drink of nature, it's definitely worth hitting up Goodale Park. Spanning the Short North and Victorian Village neighborhoods, this 32-acre paradise was the city's first urban park. It pretty much looks like something right out of a movie set, with a pond, a gazebo and several benches dotted throughout. The park is heavily involved in community events, so apartment-ites new to the area should take a look at the events calendar, as there's often live music and summer festivals (including the art festival Comfest). Dogs are welcome in the park, and you can choose to take your bicycle around if you wish. The actual landscaping isn't too elaborate, but the park is more of a Village Green-type setup, where people come to meet up, have a picnic, or just relax with a book. It also features a couple of tennis courts, basketball courts, a baseball field and some designated play area for children. As with any park, it's best to avoid after dusk just to be on the safe side.
