This gorgeous facility stretches from 45th street all the way to 48th street south of Grand Avenue. There are tails, an amphitheater, a rose garden and many outdoor shelters for picnics meetings and more. Des Moines apartment residents can spend a whole day out here and never do the same thing twice. Meander through the gorgeous rose gardens, check out the wading pool, go ice skating or sledding, take a dip in the swimming pool or play Tennis. Schedule birthday parties or family reunions here in the indoor or the outdoor shelters. Basketball courts are available for nonstop b-ball action and there is even a playground if you feel a little swinging is in order. Check out the Sylvan Theater for public events like musicals and plays. The theater is a local historic landmark having been built and in use since 1931.
