Detroit has its fair share of neighborhood bars, but few actually carry through on their promises that they're a place where "everybody knows your name," so apartment-ites may have a search on their hands if they're looking for a new place to call home. One place that should definitely be part of your quest is Chick's Bar, a Detroit favorite for over 60 years. It may have the upscale modern furnishings or creative cocktails that many off the fancier bars around town provide, but what it lacks in flare it more than makes up for in friendliness, and deliciousness. Chick's Bar is one of the best places in town to catch the big game, with plenty of drink specials in celebration of any Detroit Lions, as well as important games for University of Michigan or Michigan State. No matter what you day you come in, however, you're sure to find a refreshing beverage for a low price. Also, be sure to come in Sundays at six every week for their special My Trivia Live game to earn prizes while also have a fantastic time. If you're feeling hungry, they have a fine menu of delicious dishes that'll hit just the right spot. If you're just in the mood for something small, you can try their scrumptious breaded mushrooms, mini tacos, cheese sticks, chili fries, jalapeno poppers or hot wings. For something a bit more filling, try one of their delicious sandwiches or burgers, including ground round or bacon burger, their grilled cheese with bacon, fried bologna and onions, or their terrific BLT. They also have daily specials, with the best being their famous Friday Night Fish Fry, where you can several types of fish, shrimp, or scallops, even frog's legs, fried to order. No matter what night you go, you're guaranteed a delicious meal.
