It's easy to find places of excitement, and there are plenty of places to take in Michigan's natural side, but to do both can be a challenge. One place providing plenty of great entertainment, while also providing you with some of the most gorgeous scenery in all of Detroit is Chene Park, a beautiful park right on the lakefront, which is home to many exciting events throughout the year, from jazz festivals, to concerts, to marathons, and a number of others. No matter what you may be into, you'll have a great time enjoying the wonder of Michigan's wild side. Located just shy of downtown Detroit, you'll marvel at how different the natural surroundings are from the hustle and bustle of downtown life. Green grass and healthy trees grow all around, just asking you to plop down a blanket and take in the cool breezes come off of the cool waters. It's a great place to take your loved ones for a picnic, or to play a game of frisbee or just relax and watch the sun go down. Its such a great escape from the frantic city life that many apartment-ites are used to. Chene Park is also a great place to grab a concert, with one of the premiere stadiums in the US. Their 2,000-person amphitheater is accented with the lake behind, making watching a concert that much more a magical experience. You can enjoy some of the biggest names in music while at the same time feeling those cool Michigan breezes against your face, adding to what's already a fantastic evening. Every Wednesday jazz ensembles can be found here, and almost every weekend during the summer you'll find a big name taking the stage.
