Residents of Miami MetroZoo apartment dwellers can also view large animals such as elephants, giraffes, hippos, rhinoceroses and bears.
Several specially designated areas include the Amazon and Beyond section on 27 acres with over 600 animals, Amazonia: Amazon River and Flooded Forests and the Atlantic Forest. Camel rides and a carousel are here for the playful type, and several show and tram tours exist at the zoo for those who prefer to sit.
