Established in 1968, GWCC is one of 10 nationally accredited Maricopa community colleges. Located in Phoenix, Arizona, the college offers a comprehensive and practical education including training in a variety of occupational fields. The University is accredited and offers Associates of Arts and Applied Science degrees and certificates. Some of the fields that the college offers degrees in are: Nursing, Business, Information Technology, Environment, Industrial Technology, General Education and University Transfer classes.
Getting admitted to the college is very simple. First, a prospective student must complete a student information form. You can do this by phone or online by going to: http://my.maricopa.edu Once you complete the student information form, you need to see an advisor and submit your transcripts. Then you need to take the placement test, select and register for classes. Tuition is $65 a credit hour. General tuition for 12 hours is going to be about $1400 a semester, not including books.
Like all of the colleges in the Maricopa Community College system, there are no residence halls, but there is an active community and school life. Every kind of club, including student council, and inter-tribal club as well as the standard fraternities and sororities that service the other campus's.
