Phoenix has a bevy of beverage dispensation stations around town, so when it comes time to down a glass of suds, apartment-ites are not without their options. Pubs are especially popular in the Phoenix area, but how many of them have the style, charm and flavor of a real Irish pub? One of the few in town that has that true authentic Irish feel is Rosie McCaffrey's Irish Pub and Restaurant, voted on the top pubs in the US by Irish Voice magazine, and voted favorite Phoenix night spot by 10best readers. With that kind of pedigree behind it, Rosie's is obviously the best choice in pub-fare for apartment-ites in the Phoenix area. Some pubs only phone in their Irish authenticity, but Rosie's is truly determined to give you a real taste of the Emerald Isle. The walls are lined with jerseys from Irish soccers teams, and paraphernalia, shamrocks, and pictures of famous Irishmen. The beer signs are pure UK, with giant signs proclaim the wonders of Guinness, Killarney and Bass Ale, and they serve all the best up cold and fresh. The ambiance is warm and inviting, which is to be expected from such a traditional Irish pub, and the bar is long, with plenty of seating, while also providing a lot of space for seating as well, for those wanting to enjoy a delicious meal. Atmosphere and praise can only get you so far, in the end it comes to grub and suds, and Rosie's delivers on both fronts. To start you meal, try one of their delicious appetizers. You can choose from their mozzarella sticks, Patrick's Irish potato skins, curry chips, Josie's chicken strips, or Big Peter's pretzel basket. The main courses include traditional Irish favorites, such as their Harp-battered fish and chips, voted the best in Phoenix, shepherd's pie, or corned beef and cabbage, or more tradition American meals, such as meatloaf, grilled salmon, and even a New York strip. If burgers are more your style, try their Paddy O'Melt, a traditional patty melt with sauteed onions and thousand island dressing, or Jamaison's BBQ burger, topped with cheese and homemade barbecue sauce. They also have tasty sandwiches, including Rosie's Reuben, Finnegan's Filly Steak, Kelly's French Dip or the Blarney BLT, as well as a number of delectable wraps, salads and soups. Just make sure to save room for Granny McDonnell's Apple Dumpling, or Clare's Chocolate Seduction Cake. Plenty of places call themselves pubs, but few do it just right.
