Bars, clubs and pubs litter the Phoenix streets, but most of them are so full of drunk young folks looking for the next drink that it's hard to find a classy place to spend the evening free of the crazy drunks. One retreat from the overcrowded clubs full of frisky twenty-somethings is The Wright Bar, hidden inside the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa. It's all about upscale class here, and you're sure to find a refined, intelligent crowd, without the rowdy bunch that you'll find at most lounges around town. The place is beautiful, finished in old woods, with modern leather seating scattered all along the bar. There are also tables scattered about for those wanting to sit down for some fresh appetizers, and enjoy their surroundings. In the evenings, the piano fires up, and beautiful tunes drift through the pleasant atmosphere of the bar, allowing you to enjoy your drink while being treated to beautiful music by some very talented musicians. Sip a martini, let your hair down and relax, this is a resort after all, and it's all about taking it easy for a while. If you get a little hungry, there's always a menu of delicious culinary options to choose form . For lighter fare, you can start with an artisan cheese plate, or, if you want to start with something a bit more substantial, try the prime beef tenderloin or chilled prawns. You can also enjoy a nice salad, in Caesar, cobb, or over-roasted chicken. For entrees, you can choose from Wild Salmon, with baby spinach and an heirloom tomato emulsion, sea-salt pasta, with duck confit, wild mushrooms, english peas, goat cheese and foie gras butter, or their big bistro burger, made with black angus beef, applewood-smoked bacon, and soft brioche, served with crispy fries. The drink options are endless at this bar, but what the place is famous for is the Tequila Sunrise, which is said to have had its origin right here in The Wright Bar, and you can get it in classic, the Biltmore Original, with Blue Agave Tequila, Creme de Cassis, and fresh lime juice, or Tropical, with pineapple juice and pomegranate liquor. Other specialties include the Presidential Sweet, with Godiva white chocolate and Ciroc vodka and cream served over ice, Wright Passion, with pomegranate liqueur, Grand Marnier, orange juice and a splash of champagne, or the Caribou Lou, Barcadi 151 with Malibu rum and pineapple juice. If cocktail's aren't your thing, they have plenty of beer or wine options, and they can make just about any drink you have in mind. No matter what's your speed, you're sure to find something to wet your whistle. So many bars, pubs and clubs in town claim to be classy, just to filled with boisterous, rowdy crowds who are just there to get drunk. Phoenix apartment-ites looking for a retreat from all the rowdiness of the common bar, stop by The Wright Bar, and have a relaxing evening of drinks, food and the classiest of atmospheres.
